We booked a Saturday night at the City Beach Motel to see a concert at the WIN Entertainment Centre which was on the opposite corner. Because of this the location was perfect. The Motel is also within easy walking distance of Wollongong City Centre (restaurants, movies etc).
The Motel itself is clean but very old but is apparently due to be renovated. It was overpriced for the type of room. We paid $150 for a Saturday night which was obviously inflated due to the concert in the Entertainment Centre and there was also a football match at the stadium (next to the Centre).
The room was very basic, but comfortable. Parking is included but is very tight and I don't think there was enough spaces for the number of rooms - so first in get the spots.

Room Tip: All rooms are similar so I don't think any room is better than the others.

The location of this hotel was excellent in walking distance from everything.

However, the noise from the traffic was unbearable we were unable to sleep at all for most of the night and when we did finally get to sleep the street sweepers would go up and down the street - the first morning I thought there was an aeroplane flying over the hotel it was so loud and did I mention the late night revellers screaming and shouting up and down the street. Hotel decor is very outdated and the rooms are in need of a decent clean. I wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend to anyone else.....

Old and dated and very overpriced. Spend extra and stay somewhere nice.

We've stayed at City Beach Motel a number of times, purely for the budget price it offered. However, this weekend we stayed again, only this time is under new management, and the new people were warm and friendly, and cared. They've put real style into the grounds simply by adding plants, (lots of them) and it looked great. The rooms didn't look much diferent, but I noticed we had new coloured towels (matching mats, handtowels, facewashers). It felt very comfortable. It's a bit dated, but it was spotlessly clean. Cooking facilities a great bonus. Great for a family, or a couple like us. We would highly recommend this place. It's a walk into the centre, a walk to restaurants, coffee shops, and only a short stroll to the beach. Who could ask for anything else???? Love it.

Room Tip: Ask for a first floor room if you don't like stairs

We stayed for a concert & found the new owners just lovely. The room was very clean and the service was excellent. Yes some of the fittings are dated, but we thought it added character. Studio Room even had a bath!!! Very good position close to beach and shops. BBQ area available, undercover parking, guest laundry and free tennis courts next door. AA++
