Bundaberg Park Lodge
Reviewed 15 September 2013

We stayed here in August, nobody in the office as we arrived late in the evening, so with no reply to the phone we pitched up that night and stayed! Good thing we are honest as it would have been too easy to just leave next morning without paying. The bathroom amenities were lovely and clean, totally fine place to stay.

Had read some bad reviews but decided to stay for the cheap price and found the reviews to be unrepresentative of my experience. Staff were easy-going and the value for money was very good. Recommend for those on a budget.

Sorry you did not enjoy your stay. None of our budget rooms or motel rooms have cooking facilities as is stated on our site, so no there are no cooking tools. We do however have a camp kitchen. It is stated that we are 5 km approx from the main CBD & 1.5 km from Sugarland shopping centre. By your comments it is obvious you were in a budget room with twin singles, jug, microwave, tv, cold running water to the sink. Yes there is a $150 dollar cleaning deposit which you get back when you leave providing the room is left in a clean & tidy state. This is done because of the state some people leave our rooms or owing large amount of rent. Yes you must give notice when you are paying for a budget room otherwise we could leave them made up as motel rooms & charge you a nightly rate rather than a weekly rate. Finally yes you have to pay, no accommodation is going to let you stay without paying first.

We booked through wotif.com and this place looked on paper to be another great caravan park. This time we chose to stay in a "cabin", where we'd usually just rent a tent site and camp.

The cabin was anything but! A demountable box with an air con that didn't work, dirty inside with a constant invasion of ants, this was not what was expected when we booked a "cabin".

Further, the place has zero security, and has criminals living there, as we had items stolen during our stay. We have camped in caravan parks and left lots of gear outside our tent, and NEVER had anything stolen.

The bedding was sub standard also, I don't see considering what we paid to stay here why they can't provide a reasonable standard of amenity.

There are plenty of nicer looking places to stay closer to the Bundy town centre, so give this one a miss.

Room Tip: Don't stay here, it sucks.

Very sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. This is no excuse for you not having an enjoyable time but I had only taken over as owner in April 2011. The lady I had managing for me at that time is now also gone & it has been challenging experience for me as operating owner/manager. I agree that some of the accommodation was sub 0 standard but we have now done some major improvements & will continue to do so in the future. I would have answered your comment earlier but did not realise we were even on here. Once again I am sorry you had a less than satisfactory experience here but with the help of my assistant managers our goal is to continue to improve and upgrade this park.
