“Interesting rather than spectacular”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 January 2014 via mobile

Pleasing to see the Bundy Belle surviving and in operation again after the devasting floods in early 2013. The 2 and a half hour trip out to the Port and back on this pretty little boat now runs from a pontoon adjacent to the popular Grunsky's Restaurant and Fresh Fish Shop.

Both the scenery and skipper's commentary are interesting rather than spectacular and unsurprisingly the flood damage and its consequences are to the fore.

An inexpensive idea for a short family trip, a good way to get an insight into Bundaberg and a demonstration of the resolve showed within the local business community.

“Bundy Belle river cruise”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 December 2013

The Bundaberg Ferry Company runs a small passenger vessel from Bundaberg down the Burnett river to near where it meets the ocean. It's a family run business and costs $25 per adult for the approximately 2 1/2 hour journey. I wouldn't go out of my way to take this trip, but if you're stuck for something to do, it's a peaceful way to pass a few hours. Not much to see other than shoreline, the captain does his best to generate interest by narrating 'fascinating' facts about the river and its' history. The boat departs from 'Grunske's by the River Seafood' and times vary depending on day of the week.
