This is an extremely popular surfing beach due to the surf conditions. The Quiksilver pro surfing tour takes place here each year and attracts world class competitors.
There are several rock pools, some quite safe for the young and not so young, while others need considerable care due to the surf furiously crashing on to the rocky outcrop and filling the rock pools. The number of surfers at Snapper Rocks could make swimming somewhat dangerous. Lifeguards, however, patrol the adjoining Rainbow Bay Beach just metres away.
Snapper Rocks, with spectacular views of the Gold Coast beaches and the nearby rocky slopes of Greenmount Hill (including the “decorative” frog painting), is a photographers’ paradise worthy of inclusion in your digital collection – landscape and people alike. I spent time endeavouring to capture the precise moment the surf thundered towards the rocks with the resultant quantity of spray.
The area is well equipped with seating and tables. It is a very popular area for families, fishermen, locals and tourists alike, etc. Paths are graded and a number are wheelchair friendly. During this recent visit, several people were enjoying the mild autumn weather and had brought picnic lunches.
Of course, if the visit was to watch a surfing competition, this would be the ultimate vantage point.

Beautiful clean patrolled beaches. Not crowded like Surfers. Lots of surfers to watch. Great walking paths around the area all around Pt Danger as well. Spectacular views.

Very nice walking and swimming. aqua water, patrolled, not as built up as surfers or as crowded. The walk on boardwalks and paths is really good all the way from Kirra all the way round to the tweed river.

If there were to be a place for the best sunset in Gold Coast, it would have to be at snapper rocks! It was close to the eastern end of GC and have us a superb view of the sunset happening over at the other end! It was possibly one of the best sunsets I've seen! Should totally not miss that out in GC!
