“Great view of Gold Coast”
Reviewed 1 August 2013

You can take in the views north to Surfers Paradise and south through Coolangatta to Rainbow Beach. A great place to relax and watch the surfers if the surf is up or if you are up early then the sunrise. A quick walk to Coolangatta.

“For the romantics..”
Reviewed 30 July 2013

My husband and I just love going up to Kirra Hill, view the coast and evening skyline of Surfers Paradise. bbq's provided and hot water, and a sheltered table. We take a pizza up there in evenings or have an early breakfast with the most glorious views.

“Enjoyable view over the stunning beaches.”
Reviewed 21 July 2013

I highly recommend visiting this beautiful place located onto the hill between Kirra Beach and Coolangatta.
It is easily visible thanks to the huge statue located on the crest of the hill, a large and picturesque eagle completely made of steel, this statue is perhaps a bit 'rusty but in close up view is very beautiful.
All in all, once you reach the top of this small hill the statue is not the main attraction but the breathtaking view that you can enjoy from there, really nice, it splits to the left with the long beach of Kirra and right of the equally beautiful Kurrawa beach.
In addition to this there is the possibility getting BBQ's this place being equipped with free BBQ and a wooden gazebo with benches to enjoy a pleasant afternoon.

“A great learning experience”
Reviewed 18 July 2013

A group of friends and I learned a few things when we drove up Kirra Hill to have a look at an exhibition that was on in one of the former Kirra State School rooms. To our amazement, we were able to park, but it was a Tuesday morning and it might be necessary to walk up at weekends! This hasn't been a school for quite a few years and is now a Community Centre, but we had to feel envious of the school kids of yesteryear, "having" to come here everyday! The view both to the north and to the south of the Pacific Ocean and the skyline of the Gold Coast, not to mention nearby surfing beaches, is fantastic, and there are some picnic and barbecue facilities. It would be a great place to go for a self-catering lunch with or without children. During the week it is possible to get a key to a toilet block, but I don't think that's available at weekends. However, it's all free! I have lived on the Gold Coast for forty years but didn't know this place was open to the public. What a find!
