Took the family there, and had one of the best meals we had on the Gold Coast over two weeks of eating out. Forced the kids to go as they 'don't like chinese', but it was my birthday coming up so I made them. They were converted. For starters we had chicken satay (fantastic spicy satay sauce), Malaysian roti with curry sauce for dipping (beautiful flavour - perhaps wasted on the bread), and some spring rolls (good, but not great - filling a bit chunky with perhaps too much cabbage. Probably the least successful dish we had, but saying that they were still fine).
For mains (with plain rice of course) we had lemon chicken, and crispy duck with plum sauce - both served with the sauce to one side on our request (which was done without an issue). Some of the chicken was a little dry, but otherwise really good and the fussiest kid ate a fair amount of it. The duck was the equal dish of the night (and having the sauce to one side meant not only the kids could choose whether or not to taste it, but the meat also stayed crispy). My 'ewww.... not chinese' daughter loved it, and would have eaten the lot if we'd let her - although she was also shoveling down the calamari in five spice salt - the other top dish of the night that all the kids loved.
So, food ranged from good to excellent. Flavours for the satay sauce and dipping curry sauce stood out for me. The duck & calamari for the kids. Some very interesting dishes on the menu too - so if you have less fussy kids or are running free then I'd definitely consider checking them out. Service was quick and very friendly. Prices were very reasonable for the location, including corkage. Highly recommended - only wish we'd gone there earlier as I am certain we would have visited more than once.
