If you would've told me, the week before, that I would be visiting a university in Toowoomba to enjoy their Japanese gardens at the weekend I would've not believed it possible. It was just something to get my teenage daughter interested in a long drive. When we got there it was a unexpected delight and we enjoyed walking around this tranquil, well maintained, garden.

Visited in 2004. Delighted to find it not damaged by floods. Drove all the way from Brisbane, a long way for an Englishman:-), just to see the garden and was not disappointed. Better than anything I saw in Japan.

We weren't going to go to the Japanese gardens as we had already visited all of the other ones but we stopped by anyway - and I am so glad we did!

We were so impressed with the Japanese gardens, they are so well maintained and the lay-out is great. We walked around and then stopped at one of the benches just to sit and enjoy the peace.

I've travelled extensively around Japan and these Japanese Gardens at Toowoomba are very much like the real thing. Very beautifully architecturally designed gardens. Cherry blossoms, Japanese maples, carved hedges, turtles, ducks, birds & stone paths are some of the things you will find here. Well worth a look.
