The hotel is very dated and built in several blocks up and steep hillside so there are lots of steps and steep paths to negotiate - not for the faint-hearted. The bedroom was quite large and had a small but dated kitchenette with a full-sized stove and bar-sized fridge. Non of the cutlery matched and the cereal bowls were tiny. Plenty of storage though and the room was quite warm once the heater was on. The shower was over the bath and the water nice and hot but the taps and shower rose were circa 1970 in elegant black. There was no extractor fan or shampoo provided. We paid $135 per night so didn't feel it was good value but Agfest was on so we didn't have much choice as we booked late. Lesson learned. Location was opposite a lovely park and an easy walk into the CBD or across the river to the arts precinct. Some good restaurants in the vicinity.

Room Tip: If you have mobility issues, check for accessibility before you book.

Fairly basic room, dated but clean and roomy. Great water pressure for a good shower. We decided to get away from Hobart for a couple of nights and $79 per night was a bargain. The motel is across the road from City Park, the Auto Museum, a short walk from the CBD.

Room Tip: The views are great at the front but can be noisy. The room we had in the second block still gave us...

situated across the road from the gardens, this motel was good.
excellent service from the staff, very comfortable rooms,
chose this motel as it was close to everywhere we wanted to go in Launy.
would recommend to travelers.

Room Tip: All rooms have stais to access so not good for wheelchairs. if you want views, ask for a front room.

stayed at Parklane because we could not get into our regular hotel .. found it very noisy in early hours of morning along Brisbane st as we were staying on ground level... yeah it was comfortable and great location to Aurora Stadium and short walk to city centre .. would stay again

Room Tip: try and get room on top floor may be a little less noisy

We chose the motel for a weekend trip to Launceston that included watching Symphony under the stars in City Park

The 2 bedroom motel room we had was roomy for a family of four. while the decor was a little dated, the room was very clean and tidy.

There was a little noise from the street, but not so much to be disturbing, but I would recommend getting a room in one of the back two blocks to minimize this.

I was a little apprehensive to stay at Parklane after reading the reviews on here, but we needed something short notice for the weekend. I needn't have worried. The room we had was a twin balcony room, which overlooked city park & was in front of the main road. Apart from the occasional traffic noise, we both had a sound sleep both nights. An added bonus was the free Symphony Under The Stars concert in the park across the road that took place on Saturday night. Really enjoyed sitting out on our private balcony listening to some classical music. Having the late-night Coles just around the corner was also handy to grab some groceries for the weekend stay. Parking was a bit squishy on the Saturday night, but the carpark was practically empty come Sunday. Will definitely consider staying here again next time we're in Launceston!

The room itself was fine but the beds were very uncomfortable. It was lovely being across from the park and the walk to the shops was great exercise. However do not stay at this hotel on a Saturday night with the window facing the street. You will not be able to sleep!
