Dined out with friends at Esca recently and we were all impressed with taste and quality of our meals. Good friendly service and outstanding food. Tried Salmon steak and chicken between us and all delicious. Sides very nice as well. Had desserts also and they were exceptional. Great restaurant part of the Hotel Charles. Looking forward to being able to return again soon.

I had dinner here whilst staying in Launceston this week.
The food was amazingly tasty, service friendly and fast.
I had fresh olive read to start with followed by steak and a lovely caramel desert.

Highly recommend it.

Thank Stefanie R

The meal was quite good, however the steak was not as tender as it should have been for the price. My husband ate veal and he said it was really good. The service was very friendly and good and the desert was delicious. On the whole it was good, but as I said, not good enough for the money.

The High Tea is an absolute treat. It is very traditional with mini scones, sweets and sandwiches. There were five of us and we had plenty of left overs to take home. At only $20 per person including unlimited tea and (real) coffee, it was great value. The décor is modern and fresh and the staff were very friendly. I would definitely go there again.

My friends and I dined at Esca for a Saturday lunch catch up. Upon entry, we were seated promptly and ordered drinks, however it wasn't until about 10 minutes later we were presented with menus for perusal. The "specials" were quite expensive, and there are limited options for a light lunch, but all options on the menu sounded delicious and catered for all tastes and dietary requirements. After ordering, the food also took quite a while to arrive, especially since the restaurant wasn't overly busy, and most of the other diners were having the High Tea. Meal presentation was lovely and all of the meals tasted delicious. After the plates were cleared, we again ordered drinks, which took almost 30 minutes to arrive (we were about to cancel the order and leave), as our order had gotten "lost". I would hate to see how this restaurant operates under pressure.
