Stayed here 13-15 September 2011.
I have stayed all over Launceston fortnightly over a period of five years and had never stayed in this place.
Hotel rated at 3.5 stars. The receptionist was very welcoming, was aware of my online booking, gave a me a current menu for the in-house restaurant and directed me to my room away from the road.
Upon entering the room, I was very surprised. Although there was a mix of decades in the styling: a glass 70's chandelier, 1980's bronze-trimmed mirrored wardrobe doors, and 1990's tiling. However, the room itself was immaculate. The floor coverings, bed, manchester, and paint were all new. Small LCD TV with digital set-top box.
Good sized room which was made up daily with fresh towels.
Good value for money. No problem. Checkout took 30 seconds which was as pleasant as my arrival.
Overlooks City Park on Brisbane St. An advertised 3-minute walk to the CBD is NOT misleading, it is an accurate description of this hotel's proximity to the city. The website is accurate as well.
A nearby church tolls from 0600 but should not annoy any but the lightest of sleepers.
Will stay here again for my next trip to Launceston.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the road if staying during M-F to avoid traffic noise.

We stayed two nights mid week in this hotel and were pleasantly surprised. The room was quite large and adequately furnished. We had one of the rooms that fronted onto the road but overlooked the park which was quite a pleasant outlook. The road noise did not disturb us at all. The location is quite handy and we walked to all the main attractions in Launceston. I would recommend this hotel and it is extremely good value for money and very pleasant staff.

Rooms are reasonably sized but having toilet and shower in one small room with the vanity in a small hallway area with the kitchen/closet was a little annoying. Also had to have the aircon on most of the time to alleviate the musty smell due to lack of ventilation - if you open the window you have to put up with other people smoking outside.

It was great having 2 chairs and a lounge table, adding to the spaciousness of the room and also meant you don't have to sit in bed to watch TV.

Very steep hill leading up to the hotel but Launceston itself is very hilly so that's not a complaint against the hotel, just a warning to those who might be surprised!

Overall, well-priced, extremely friendly staff and a great location.

Well organised motel on steep slopes on the left just as you drive into town from the east along the A3. They gave us exactly what we asked for: high floor superior room at the back with no traffic noise, and we were very happy with it. Clean, modern, comfortable bed with bath and shower, large TV, fridge, friendly receptionist. Easy walk into town. To reach the restaurants on the Marine front (15mins walk), walk diagonally down through the park opposite, then right to reach the coastal embankment path and follow this downstream to the next bridge. You can continue on from here following the coast for another 15 mins and cross a road bridge to locate the scenic path up the N side of Cataract Gorge.

Easy, short walk to main shopping centre, outlook over park is really nice. The restaurant was very good - modern, interesting menu and wines. Our room was at the front with park views. Large, really pleasant room although decor a little tired. We booked this online and were really pleased with it as a base to explore the city and region. Would stay there again.
