“Once in a lifetime experience”

Didn't go here expecting much. Met by a very friendly and knowledgeable volunteer who certainly knows his radios. They have a nostalgic and extensive collection of radios. The cream was firstly, meeting the radio announcer; this is a live radio station after all, and then having a live chat on air. I can't recommend highly enough the opportunity for a live radio chat. As a community radio, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. A must experience when in Launy.

“This Place is Amazing!!!!!! just don't miss it.”

The volunteeer staff were so enthusiastic and so informative. The stories and items on desplay were remarkable and very educational, not just for the kids but for me too... I actually did learn somethings I never knew. All for a small donation instead of an entry fee.
Also they run a community radio starion everyday 103.7 FM , if I remember correctly and it is well worth a listen. They invited my 6 & 10 year old kids to have a quick chat live on air with the presente to tell him what they were loving about being on holidays in Tassie!!!
It is right behind the monkey enclosure in city park Launceston ......and just as much fun too.

“Very interesting, much enjoyed.”

We were visiting the park and came across this museum. It is run by volunteers and the cost is a gold coin donation. We were greeted by very friendly volunteers who guided us through the extensive display of radios and gramophones. It was interesting to see which one was the first one you remembered as a child and how things have changed. We were given a tour over to the recording studio and could view the show being put to air. Our guide was great, when we asked had she been on air and she told us she had read the morning newspaper a service for the sight impared. They are doing great work! Was very interesting and a bit of fun, worth a visit.
