Nice looking rooms in a good location but I would never book there again . First room had a leak involving the bathroom fan and the room was very smelly .the Bed had dirty marked sheets . The second room we were moved to had a dirty bath/ shower and the toilet had faeces in it . We were uncomfortable staying in this hotel and the manager was good to deal with in getting a refund .

For a budget priced Hotel, there is nothing budget at all about the quality of the room. Recently refurbished, the room was a good size with everything that was needed for a comfortable stay. Only 3 minutes drive from the heart of Launceston and about 10 minutes from Cataract Gorge everything is within easy reach of the Hotel. The host Wanita, is delightful, and very helpful. If you are traveling to Launceston, do yourself a favor and stay at the Centennial, you won't regret it and the price is fabulous.

I stayed in this hotel in June, 2013. It is a good position, close to the city centre. It has obviously just recently been refurbished so it was lovely clean and new. Bed was comfortable and shower great. My issues were with the noise from the street - which the lady on reception assured me would not be bad at night. My comment to that, is that she should spend a night in the room. It was horrendous. Traffic basically all night and starting in the early hours of the next morning again. But the lady on reception was lovely and very helpful.

My other problem was the cold. June in Tassie can be quite chilly, as it was, and the room had no heating except for a fan heater which I found in the cupboard which was useless. An electric blanket on the bed would have been great. So spent quite a chilly and noisy night. Also, no lift and had to carry my bag up myself. This was my fault though, for not checking when I booked the room, so can't really complain!

I would not stay at this hotel again because of those two facts, but it is a clean, well run hotel and certainly very good value.

We had a double room, and were very impressed with the small price we had pay, bath, queen sized bed, LCD TV, heater, fan - everything. Just a note: bring a cheap $3 set of bath plugs, we couldn't find a plug for the bath - I'm sure it was.there, also the lamp broke, but otherwise very impressed.

My partner and I stayed at the Centennial for a night, for a friend's wedding in the Tamar Valley. The Centennial was very cheap, and good value for what we had. It was very clean and with all new fixtures, carpet, bed linen etc. Great value budget hotel, comfortable bed. Only about 5 minute walk to central area of Launceston, directly across the road from Coles. Largeish bar fridge and kettle in the room were a nice touch. Only downside was the entryway, which is still decorated in the style of the old pub it used to be, and the strange towels - old monogrammed white ones with the name "Fiona" on them?! Very weird, especially seeing as everything else was so nice and new. But, they were very fresh and clean notwithstanding. I'd definitely recommend it for those wanting a cheap, clean and comfortable place on a budget.
