We stayed one night, found the hotel a bit hard to find due to the road layout but got there in the end. Very pleasant and helpful hosts, quick check-in and our room had a great view down the Tamar. The rooms are very retro, 1970's style, like so many places we have stayed in Tasmania but don't be put off by this - they were super clean and we had a great night's sleep. The strip lights in the bedrooms were a bit odd I thought. There is some road noise, but not enough to disturb you. We ate dinner in the bar, decent pub food with a good choice. Continental breakfast was adequate - cereal and toast - some fresh fruit would have been nice on an island that has so much growing locally. We used the pool and spa bath - nice after a long time in the car. All in all a good overnight stop and I would be very happy to stay here again.

Perfect place to stay with a big family. Rooms are spacious and the access is very easy. The owners make you feel at home, no matter what.
At night, you can see the cityscape with all the lights popping up around the Tamar Valley. I strongly recommend staying at the Village Inn.

Stayed here overnight after a wonderful two-week holiday in Tasmania. Just needed a reasonably priced bed for the night for five of us. We had the option of squeezing into one apartment or taking two, which we did because the price was very reasonable. There was a bit of a hiccup when we arrived and my father was given the key for a room that was already occupied! The owners sorted it out quickly and the other guests didn't seem to mind the intrusion. As other reviewers have commented, the rooms are very dated but in excellent condition. We ate dinner up at the restaurant and the food was tasty, good value and generous.

I have stayed three times here and can't rave enough. The staff are fabulous! Funny, quirky, respectful and charming. The location is outstanding with sweeping views of the Tamar Valley. Rooms are clean and have kept the insane and wonderful 1970s tiles in the bathrooms. I love it and value for money is excellent. The deck in the sun in the afternoon with a cool drink is a lifesaver.

We stayed here for 2 nights as a big group and we all really liked it. The rooms admittedly were very dated and was like a step back to the '70s' but it had character. It was clean. It was convenient. And the staff were exceedingly friendly, from the reception staff through to the house keeping. The indoor heated pool was great as we were getting very cold weather despite being January!
Included Breakfast was basic but was sufficient for us (something we are not use to getting included into the price in Australian hotels)
Free wi-fi which surprised us because we NEVER have received free internet in an Australian hotel.
Big thank you to Glenn, who greeted us, who also happened to know the same people as our father (small world) - we really enjoyed our stay!!
