“Stayed Again and Still Impressed”
Reviewed 3 October 2013

I have stayed at Elphin Villas three times now and it seems to always be offering something extra each time. They now offer complimentary wifi which is a bonus, and reception staff are more than happy to meet every request (i.e. DVD Player available on request, fresh milk, extra tea and coffee, extra pillows, early check in as soon as the room is available). While this is a mid-range hotel, they seem to be going the extra mile to ensure guests are comfortable and impressed with their stay. All requests were met and I think this is the biggest bonus of choosing this family run hotel in the pleasant Eastern side of the Launceston CBD.

Also love the Coles Kmart complex across the road, they are open 24 hours meaning you will never have any troubles.

Rooms are exceptionally clean. I see a lot of reviews claiming they are 'basic' - it really depends which room you book!!! If you want the full facilities book the 3 bedroom Deluxe Villa as this is where we choose to stay and offers all the comforts of home - it is a 2 level apartment with full kitchen, dining table for 6, lounge, private courtyard, and 3 bedrooms/2 bathrooms. Very homely tuscan feel!

Room Tip: Rooms 23, 25, 27 are at the back of the property and very secluded/quiet/away from the street and ot...

We stayed over the weekend with other family and children in another villa. Nice and clean, good service and family friendly. It was a bit noisy at night due to its location, mainly due to the sports center over the road but great location for the city and city park.

Travelled with a family group of six adults for one night, the first stop of a trip around Tasmania.
We requested a 3 bedroom villa that had two bathrooms as we had six adults, and were granted that request. The bedrooms and main bathroom were upstairs, with a second bathroom, kitchen, dining and living area downstairs and a small courtyard. The bedrooms were quite small and the kitchen wasn't very well equipped (eg only two very small saucepans, so was difficult to cook a pasta dish for 6 people), but we coped for one night. The location was convenient as there was a Coles and Kmart literally across the road. It was reasonably priced, and met our needs, but I would only recommend it for a short stay.

Very handy location, good beds and pillows. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. Not first class but very clean and comfortable, lots of room, would be great for several days stay. Showers are good they dont trickle out.

I don't like to be mean and I don't wish to be negative, but at the same time, we all come here to get honest answers and help. Therefore.... When booking our accommodation I was under the impression that we would have a spacious room, with the option of a roll out bed if need be (if we had an extra family member stay) That is the way I read the 'blurb' and the photos showed it to be a nice looking room. How very wrong I was! There was barely room to move. Sure it was clean but by gosh, it was claustrophobic! There were also at least 2 interstate teenage sporting groups staying whilst we were there. They were loud and 'busy' Playing ball games near where cars were parked etc, making my husband and I a little nervous about broken windows.. No restaurant on site, but a Coles not far and it's not too far from the city. A little disappointed as we could have stayed elsewhere for the same price, if not cheaper. All in all, ok place for a nights stop over.

We had a three bedroom / 2 bathroom villa (townhouse) which was very comfortable for 7 people. It was clean and comfortable, serviced daily and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Coles and KMart were across the road. You could walk into town (around 15 minutes) through a beautiful park. There was a courtyard with an outdoor table and chairs. The kitchen was well equipped but there was no dishwasher; there was an oven but no containers to use in the oven.

Room Tip: We had villa 25 which was at the back of the complex and away from the street.

We booked a queen room with dissabled bathroom for 2 nights. We were shocked at the size of the room, being for someone dissabled would have been difficult in a wheelchair getting in and out of doors, was more of a one person room. Had toaster, cereal, bread etc covered the basics but was dark and backed onto a clifface retaining wall. The room had a bad drainage smell once bathroom door was closed was bearable. Luckily it was a base for us and we didnt spend too much time in it. One good thing about it was the Kmart mall across road. Parking was at door but extremely tight when full house. Staff very helpful. Not likely to return again.
