Close to town and well priced. Based in a beautiful old Nun's convent next to town. A great place to stay in Launceston. It is a walk (or cheap taxi) to the Gorge or into town but not too far. I would stay here again.

From the moment we walked in the door we felt welcomed. The owner James is warm and friendly and has great knowledge of must see attractions and great cafes and restaurants in the area and went the extra mile to make sure we were happy and comfortable. From the warm and cozy room we had a picturesque view of the city and the accommodation is but a short drive from the Cataract Gorge. The rooms were very well appointed with modern fixtures and is amazing value for money. We ended up staying an extra night we loved it so much. Thank you James, we'll definitely be recommending your lovely establishment and we will be coming back

If you are looking for a unique place to stay in Launceston then Auldington is the place. We booked two rooms for 11 May at this newly refurbished Covent on the hill. Auldington is centrally located to the Cataract Gorge and other attractions and a short stroll to cafes and restaurants. James, the owner, recently bought the property and is passionate about ensuring his guests are happy and is a great source of information regarding attractions and places to eat. It's rare these days to find such a passionate owner operator. Thank you for a great stay James and best of luck. Sally and Adam

Cosy spacious room in a walking distance of the centre. Really helpful and friendly staff. We drove past it at first but it is there where it should be :)

Nice cafe in a minute away where you can have wonderful breakfast.

We stayed four nights in this charming, renovated convent. The bathroom was clean and modern with a very generous 2 person bath. The staff were friendly and knowledgable about the local area. Shops, restaurants, museums, Cataract Gorge and other attractions are all within walking distance. The hotel is high on a hill and enjoys lovely views over Launceston. Would stay there again.

Stayed three nights and was very comfortable, although lack of breakfast (other than a pre-ordered packaged job) was not ideal.

A rearrangement of nights stayed after arrival was handled with good grace and efficiency.

We would stay here again.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet here. We found the ground floor convenient.

we recently stayed two nights and it is a grand old place and looks impressive. staff were very nice and made you feel welcome. we had a room with city views ( no spa tho) and it had plenty of room for a short stay. bathroom had good shelf space to put all your odds and ends. the room needed abit of a dust though, especially in the cupboards. it was quiet and a very easy walk to restaurants/pubs/city. no need to take your car. felt very safe walking back at night. I didn't like the silver blinds in the room, as they didnt seem to fit in with the rest of the place and they let in too much light in the morning and would of liked thick curtains instead. the hallways need a bit of a paint touch up ( wouldn't take that long to do and would look so much better) and the car parking!! I know its only $5.50 each night but really - why? you have the grounds for the parking and all it does is turn people off. but overall it was a pleasant stay i would recommend this hotel.
