“Another Great Find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2014

I had to go to Bendigo for a 50th party and I asked some locals to suggest a place to stay for my son and I. This was booked for me sight unseen. Not expecting anything much as the nightly rates were so extremely affordable and with accommodation you only get what you pay for, well this place was fantastic. I stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment and it was immaculate. Great for a family and the unit was virtually brand new and a great layout. 3 single beds in one room and a queen bed in the other. Comfortable lounge room with a dinning table and a great kitchen facility. The bathroom was sensational. The location was great right opposite the lake and close to shops and pubs. All in all it was a ripper find and would recommend it highly

Room Tip: Family room was great

This was our first stay at Tea House, which we chose after reviewing many Bendigo hotels. We were looking for somewhere for a family stay - clean, quiet, and not too far from the O'Keefe Rail Trail.

Our family of (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed in one of the the 2 room apartment style suites. One room had a nice firm Queen size bed. The other room had 3 single beds. All beds were fitted with electric blankets (critical in winter) and the suite was also warmed by a split system hot/cold air conditioner.

The suite was clean and modern with plenty of space and the kitchenette had a fridge, sink, kettle, and microwave. Tea, coffee, and milk are supplied.

Free wifi access was a pleasant surprise too! What seems standard now in most parts of the world is still usually a pricey add-on in many Australian hotels and motels.

We ordered a cooked breakfast for the morning. The poached eggs, bacon, and croissant were well prepared, well priced, and delivered hot.

The hotel owners, Brent and Jody, were very friendly and helpful at reception

Highly recommended - we will definitely stay again the next time we are in Bendigo.

We thank you in taking the time to write a review on the Tea House Motor Inn. We are extremely glad that you have enjoyed your stay with us.

Our 2 Bedroom Apartment are idea for family's and for people wanting that bit more space when they are away from home. We are glad that you had everything that you required while being away from home. Lake Weeroona is such a perfect location, with everything very close by.

Once again thank you for leaving a review and we look forward in welcoming you back to the Tea House next time you are in Bendigo.

Regards

This is one of the best motels for layout that we have stayed in. The grounds are expansive meaning you don't feel cramped when you enter the motel area and you don't get the feeling that you're in a square. It's well landscaped with a pool and a communal barbecue and barbecue seating area. We stayed just one night but will stay again on our way through to Adelaide again. Rooms are well appointed and very clean. Perhaps at the top end of the pricing but it's certainly worthy of consideration with a good location.

Bendigo abounds in quality motels, ranging from the budget overnighter through to the luxurious, elegant and expensive, but for those seeking a middle course the “Teahouse Motor Inn” ticks all the boxes. Situated a kilometre or two north of Bendigo on the main Bendigo-Echuca highway, the Teahouse is ideally located directly opposite Lake Weeroona, away from the urban hustle and bustle, but still only a few minutes drive from the CBD and its art, restaurant and entertainment venues. On arrival we found reception staff to be friendly, obliging and informative, check-in was completed quickly and efficiently, and a few minutes later we found ourselves in a spacious, bright and airy room, comfortably furnished, and with most of the amenities travellers look for and expect. The bed was attractively made up and very comfortable, and after a long drive beckoned invitingly; the TV provided a variety of entertainment choices; the ensuite was very clean and functional, and the room was well insulated against outside and adjoining noise and distractions. Room temperature controls were easy to understand and implement.

We liked the fact that this motel is a single level facility, making this venue an attractive proposition for those who don’t fancy dragging one or two heavy suitcases up steep flights of stairs to upper-level rooms. Except for the front suites, the view from our room was largely onto the attractively landscaped pool and garden interior of the property. Access to one’s vehicle – unless it came into the room with you - couldn’t be more convenient; it’s right outside your door [a big plus if faced with bulky luggage].

We didn’t like the absence of easily accessible power outlets to service the numerous electronic devices that now accompany travellers [in our case 2 mobile phones, computer, 2 cameras, and a sleep apnoea device for him at night]. This oversight is not restricted to the Teahouse – it’s a deficiency a lot of contemporary motels need to correct if they are going to keep up with the times [a 4-way power outlet board installed near the TV would fix this problem in a jiffy]. So a little tip for travellers – carry your own power outlet board if you’re burdened with electronic devices.

There were a few little eccentricities – the positioning of the small table setting clashed with the position of the TV screen [anyone seated at the table blocked the view for others]; the cupboard and the wall air conditioner got in the way of each other [the door kept hitting the AC], while bench space would probably be considered by some as a bit light on.

For our next trip to Bendigo it will be the Teahouse Motor Inn for us, and over our next dinner party we shall certainly encourage our friends to do likewise.

He gives it 3 stars – so does she.

We thank you in taking the time to review the Tea House Motor Inn. We are extremely glad that you enjoyed your stay and thank you for the comments for improvement. I have looked up what kind of room you had, and you booked one of our Deluxe Spa rooms. This Spa room is of very good quality but I can see your concerns. Next time you stay at the Tea House Motor Inn can I suggest that you book one of our Executive Units (NEW). These rooms have been fully refurnished and we have improved all the things you are taking about... Extra power points for one have been added and also a kitchenette which customers find extremely handy to have Plates, Cutlery, Kitchen Sink and Micro Wave Oven, Toaster and Tea / Coffee making facilities. Also with extra bench space and a free standing desk.

Once again thanks for you comments and we look forward in welcoming you back to the Tea House Motor Inn next time you are in Bendigo.

Regards

This is the second time we have stayed here, and we love it. We get a two bedroom family suite. Near the pool. The style is modern clean and refreshing. The rooms are very comfortable with new clean furniture. The bathroom is nice and modern, luxurious towels are a nice touch. The kitchen has everything you'd need, there is a dining table and two couches.
The pool is great and over all the property is well kept and tidy (like most of Bendigo) and it is a pleasure to sit outside, we will always stay here when we come up from Melbourne.
The location directly across from the lake is also a big plus, it is so beautiful over there.

Our ecent sty at the Tea House was quite good. The best part was the lovely helpful staff. The rooms were very clean and the hotel is situated in the lovely lake area of Bendigo. Wee did not use thwe restaurant on this occasion but we will on our next visit. The pool was nice and clean, however it is not a large pool bt enough to cool the kids down.

I stayed here for 6 nights. I was in one of the two cottages just down the road from the main motel, which I preferred as it is very quiet and private. Situated opposite the beautiful lake.

2 Bedrooms, full kitchen, bathroom, laundry and big lounge/dining area. The cottage is spacious. Good air conditioning system. Private courtyard and garden at the back are great for enjoying sunsets outside.

The train was mentioned in some of the previous reviews but this is not a problem at all, in fact I quite enjoyed hearing the train coming past. The train only comes past about twice a day in any event.

You can park your car safely behind a gate.

I will stay here again if I ever visit Bendigo again.

Room Tip: As mentioned, I liked the privacy of the cottage down the road, which is still part of the motel.
