“Loved it!”
Reviewed 3 April 2014

This was the first time we have stayed in this little B&B and we loved it. Everything was just right. We arrived late in the afternoon and our key was waiting for us in an envelope. We had asked for a ground floor room and the one we got was ideal. The location was perfect, a short walk to anywhere in town especially to restaurants. Next time we stay here will make it for a few nights. Great breakfast cooked to order.

Our room was a "petite queen" and it certainly was....petite! No space for any facility to accommodate our clothes so we could not unpack. The breakfast was excellent and the location perfect for discovering the fascinating history of the area. The decor was suited to the historical atmosphere of the tpwn

Room Tip: There is no swimming pool nor fitness centre but I am unable e to cancel the rating! I never had...

This is not a bad option and is perfectly located for visiting the tourist attractions and restaurants. Our room was on the ground floor and although the bathroom was small, it was adequate. Our bed was comfy, and despite overlooking the high street it was quiet at night and we had a good nights sleep. Other reviewers have extolled the virtues of the loft which was booked out when we were there, and it would offer more room. The main drawback with our room was the lack of soundproofing between rooms, which had us giggling over our neighbours ablutions! So if this would bother you, go for the loft. Breakfast was very good.

Recently stayed here with my young daughter, her first time in a B&B type set up. Loved it was perfect. Irene offered to pick us from the train station, which was very generous. The location was all fantastic easy walking distance to everything as we had no transport. The room was tasteful and roomy, faced the street which could be quite loud at times, but the location was brilliant, and we did stay over a long weekend which was understandable very busy. The breakfast was fantastic and Irene really made us feel welcome. We loved it so much we have already booked our return visit. This Inn gives value for money.

We recently stayed there, the photos on booking.com are very misleading our room was nothing like what they had put up. We were given the key to room 6 and unfortunately someone else was in that room!!! We eventually got on to the owner who said this had never happened before!! Finally we were given a different room. The bed was ok just. The shower was very small and had cracks in the wall and the floor was slippery. The toilet wasn't easily flushed. The only good thing about our stay was the breakfast. Sorry, but would not recommend this place to anyone. Total waste of $310

An impetuous decision to visit Echuca for the weekend had us booked into the Steampacket Inn. A great decision. Someone had booked Room 8 (recommended by others in TA reviews) so we upgraded to the loft.
Another great decision.
The room was totally private, had a large living space as well as a super comfy bedroom, loads of hanging space and the best shower ..........
The view wasn't great, but it allowed us to have wide open windows, which we like.
Check-in was seamless and we had two excellently presented breakfasts along with very helpful recommendations from the host.
As luck would have it the Echuca Show was on - ponies, chooks, bulls, showbags, the full catastrophe, so that also added to the weekend.
Would recommend the Steampacket any time.

Room Tip: The loft gives, privacy, comfort and extra space. Worth the slightly higher rate. There is no view...

Stayed here for two nights with two other couples. They all had new modern en suites, I had an old ensuite which really needs refurbishment. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water. There is nowhere to hang clothes. Not even a coat hanger! Didn't see the property manager at all except for when we arrived. Rooms serviced daily bit it would have been good to have the option of not changing the sheets etc each day. Bit of a waste. All in all however, pleasant place to stay.
