North Arm Tourist Park
Reviewed 25 March 2014

I stayed five nights in my van at this small park. Its location, right across the road from its own jetty, is brilliant. Strolling across the road first thing in the morning with my coffee, or sitting on the jetty with my book, was so relaxing. The RSL club is a short walk away, the bowling club and shops a bit further, but within easy walking distance. Jason, the fantastic manager, helped me back my van (by using his specially purchased gizmo for people like me who are hopeless at backing!!!). The sites are adequate in size and have on site matting. The pool made for a very refreshing dip. Being dog friendly is an additional advantage for people who like to take their puppy along. The undercover BBQ area included a microwave, kettle, toaster and sink, and had a lovely atmosphere. This park doesn't have all the whiz-bang features of a competitive brand, so I'd say it is more suitable to an older age group who don't need jumping mats and rec rooms. All in all, great staff, clean facilities, great location, and I'll be back.

Stayed Xmas 2012 for 10 days on a powered site. For a busy time of the year this was a great park. Quiet, clean amenities, pet friendly, helpful staff. Perfect location in a quiet location directly opposite water with its own jetty. 10 min walk to shops and restaurants. We also walked to the beach from there. Lakes entrance information centre only a 5 min walk. Beautiful spot and we had a great time. New Year's Eve fireworks display is not to be missed!

ill give u the facts......3 guys staying for a fishing trip, 3 nights. simple accommodation as expected in a cabin. clean, and all cooking utensils etc provided. air-conditioning works well, larger than usual fridge.
found the male manager very pleasant and went out of his way to give information and local attractions. bbq area was clean and well equipped. full size fridge, paper towel, sink, detergent etc.

literally walk across the rd and you're on the water, moor ur boat or hire one, fish or stroll.
walking distance to all shops including safeway and subway and mcdonalds and the pub.

upon arrival at 4pm, owner had not changed flicking fluorescent light or beeping smoke alarm, he informed us that previous tenants had awared him. we stood around after a tiresome 4 hr drive as he repaired these items. one burner on gas top was buggered. timber floorboards on front porch was loose and tbh dangerous to less co-ordinated people other than ourselves. we didn't inform of these as we got by and aren't ones to cause a stir. easy going long as we have a roof over our head.
thought prices steep at 160 per night. 8-12jan. have just booked surfers paradise in march, right ON the beach, 2 bedroom for 106 per night so go figure!

if u want basic everything, close walk to everything id recommend. its certainly nothing flash, and not drinking alcohol near the pool was a downer for us. overall we enjoyed our stay as we were always out and about exploring the beautiful town, fishing and watching dolphins frolic from the breakwater.

Room Tip: cabin close to the rd

This a terrific cosy family run park that appeals to families on so many levels, the owners Jason and fiona are very welcoming and couldnt do enough to help us site our large caravan to the point he used his van mover to ensure a good position on the site. The amenities are more than adequate inspite of their vintage, they are nice andclean with lashings of hot water
The swimming pool was very welcome too on the warm days, as well as the shady camp kitchen and bbq.
The location is terrific right across from the lake with its own jetty and boat mooring a short walk to hire boats and the main shopping / restaurants make this an ideal base to explore lakes and beyond thanks guys

We booked to stay 6 nights between Xmas and New Year as the park had a last minute cancellation. The site was extremely small and cramped, and and on a main busy road - Marine Parade. The tents were so close that guy ropes were touching, and we could hear everything from both adjoining sites, including a very loud late night horror movie from the tent next door, which scared our children to death.
Unfortunately for us, our fellow campers were very unfriendly - they would not even acknowledge us never mind say hello - and made us feel so uncomfortable, that we left after 3 nights.
I explained this to the staff as we were leaving, but was only offered "sorry to hear that".
The large sign behind the reception desk stating 'No refunds for early departure or change of mind' deterred me from asking for a refund.
As we did take a cancellation, I expect we were crashing a large party?
Very disappointing, and very un-Australian.

Room Tip: Sites by the main road are very noisy, traffic does not seem to stop throughout the night during the...

We have been staying at north arm with our family for 12 years now. We agree with some of these bad comments when the old owners were running the park we did leave for a couple of years.. But Jason and Fiona have now taken over, it's the cleanest the park has ever been, the facilities are tidy and they are great friendly people who always are there if you need them. We can Moore our boat off their private jetty, straight across from the water. And even when it's fully booked it is still a lovely quite place, relaxing and clean.. We will continue to come back here every Christmas and Easter as we always have. Great job to Jason and Fiona for getting this park back on track!
