“Good Breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 December 2013

Visited this restaurant twice for breakfast. My partner and I tried the Eggs Benedict, Eggs Atlantic, Pigeon Big Breakfast and Poached Eggs. The breakfast service is quick and everything is as it should be, good food- eggs with runny yolk, delicious mushrooms etc. the coffees and hot chocolates were good too. The highlight though has to be the fruit juices... With the interesting juice combinations- a perfect way to start your day. Well worth a visit.

“Consistently very good.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 November 2013

Over the last 18 months I've been four times and have been very impressed every time. The coffee has been consistently good which is an excellent sign.

The Spanish breakfast with its chorizo and haloumi is really beaut but the last two times I have gone for simple bacon and (poached) eggs. Once again: consistent and good. Beautifully poached eggs on a slice of toasted sourdough and quality bacon just slightly crispy with a little frond of fennel for some colour. It's hard to get the simple stuff right as you can't hide your mistakes. There was nothing to hide here.

The people whining about the prices are, at best, half right. I reckon the bacon and eggs for $10 is a bargain but my partner's toasted fruit bread (two slices, no jam) for $8 seemed a little high. The coffee is the usual $3.80 or something like that.

I'll certainly be back next time I'm on the coast.

“Steep, but worth the climb”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 October 2013

Six Sisters and a Pigeon is an order-at-the-counter establishment facing the ocean across the esplanade. Food is brought to your table... Eventually. Location makes the prices steep, but our breakfasts of muesli, fruit and yoghurt were generous and well presented and the long black coffees were exceptional. Get a seat at the counter facing the window if possible.
