Certainly a few gems among the dross, but they appear to be getting drowned by charmless rowdy bars. Lots of options but very few I’d want to eat or drink in. Maybe it was because it was the weekend.

Definitely has a different ‘feel’ and a touch of the Miami about it, and very easy to get to on the tram (16 or 96) but the potential character is masked by a heady mixture of packed bars, clothes shops and drunks.

Still one of the best streets in the Melbourne area for bars, cafes and restaurants. There were a few changes since my last visit but the Abbey Road bar/restaurant was still there. Conveniently there is a tram stop that will take you back into town and past Southern Cross station which was great for me.

like with everything in Melbourne, this street is over rated & underwhelming! Expensive shops, expensive restaurants, a few good cafes & a couple of ice-cream joints & your done! you wont miss much by not doing this street!

We only had 45 minutes to walk around and get light lunch. I think of this street as the Abbot Kinney in Venice CA. Bohemian feel, lots of restaurants and boutique stores. I will go back to spend more time here.

Acland St has everything - chain shops, boutique shops, coffee shops, bars, restaurants, cake shops. We had a ball walking up and down and seeing all the shops they have. Cars are allowed on part of the street, then it’s only trams. So while there’s not much traffic, still gotta watch yourself when you cross the road. Reminded me of Glenelg in Adelaide. A must see, if not for the food and shopping, then just for the atmosphere.
