“Enjoyable place in St Kilda”
Reviewed 4 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We enjoyed our stay. Karen & Ross were very friendly, cooperative and accommodating. The apartment was well decorated, clean, in good order with several small touches which gave it a homey feel. We loved the location. I would highly recommend staying at the Arcadia.

“A little gem”
Reviewed 23 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Arcadia is a delightful little property which is well located near shops, Acland Street, Luna Park, trams into Melbourne and the beach. The property has lots of extras, like washing powder, which are so thoughtful and useful. We will be back.

“Perfect home from home”

From the buzz of Ackland Street and the bright lights of the city to our small, but perfect, oasis - Arcadia was an ideal hub for a long holiday. We spent a month here and enjoyed every moment. Clean, comfortable (great bed) and above all, peaceful. Karen and Ross were excellent hosts, only too happy to meet any requests. Having a bit of private outside space was a real bonus and if the weather had been warmer we'd have used it every day. The beach is just a 5 minute walk away, the tram stop even closer. Ackland Street caters to your every foodie desire from amazing breakfasts to a late night cake and glass of wine. Two supermarkets provide everyday supplies within easy walking distance. We will most certainly be back again and again.

“Fabulous property in a quiet street a stone's throw from the beach!”

This was our first accommodation on a month-long trip around Australia. We arrived late which wasn't a problem. After a twenty-hour journey from London Arcadia St Kilda was the perfect respite to recover. Ross and Karen have created such a perfect apartment, which is in a characterful street of Victorian houses. Ross was also very helpful with tips and ideas of what to do and see. The street is very quiet, buy you are only two minutes from the main streets of St Kilda and the beach, also very close to the tram stops into the city.

Staying here at the beginning of our trip set the bar very high for all our other accommodation, and the end of the holiday I would still say Arcadia was one of the best properties we stayed in. I would highly recommend it!

Liked best: The wirlpool bath, the standard of the furnishings, the comfiness of the bed, the peacefulness of the courtyard to name a few.
Liked least: A few more items in the kitchen might be helpful, but this is really a small suggestion rather than a criticism!

“Lovely courtyard gardens, handy location”

This accommodation is a cottage in the garden of the owners lovely villa in St Kilda, but with unobtrusive screening it is very private. The courtyard of the cottage is lovely and we would have used it more it it hadn't rained almost the whole time we were there!! The cottage was beautifully presented and had a small kitchen, good sized lounge area and comfy bed, beautiful furniture in keeping with the older style of the cottage, big bathroom with washing machine and dryer. The owners were really friendly and helpful and we even went with them to a trivia/quiz evening on the last night of our stay and then joined them for a cup of tea at their house afterwards. The cottage is in a great location just a short walk to Akland Street which has the famous cake shops - plus cafes, restaurants, grocery shops etc. Close to trams and the beach also.

“High quality apartment in a great location.”

Very comfortable well appointed apartment. There were lots of welcoming touches - fresh flowers, milk in the fridge and even a bottle of wine! The apartment is in a good location in a bohemian and historic part of Melbourne with easy access to the CBD by tram. The owners, Ross and Karen are friendly and on hand for advice if needed. Definitely one to recommend.

We had the best time staying with Karen, Ross & (Speedo the Jack Russel) @ Arcadia.
The cottage was so well appointed, everything you could possibly need was catered for, and Ross was never far away if we needed advice or guidance "Thanks".....Speedo always gave us a warm welcome back when we'd been out!
The centre of St Kilda was a 2min. walk from the house, with the lovely beach not much further,...an abundance of Cafe's, shops & bars meant there was always pleanty to do day or night.
Can't recommend St Kilda and 'Arcadia' highly enough, We will certainly book again.
