We spent a lovely evening at the light and sound show. It lasted about 45 minutes and it was really enjoyable, rug up if you're going in winter. We spent a really enjoyable time the next morning on the Pyap river boat cruise and then spent a leisurely time wondering around the village.

When we brought the tickets the cashier said that she thought we'd done the light & sound show / day visit in the right order. I think we did too. It meant that none of the magic was lost doing it that way round.

It's not big, but with a 12 yr old and 6 yr old we spent a lovely morning wondering around. We all learnt a lot seeing what life in the era was like.

All of the staff we met were great. They seemed happy and engaged. We had a great time and if you're in Swan Hill I think it's a great way to spend 1/2 day. I don't think it's worth a long travel for this alone.

The Pioneer Settlement at Swan Hill, including the night show was fantastic, very helpful, friendly relaxed staff, great value family tickets, lovely lunch (also good value), the Paddle steamer ride, with a glass of wine was great, kids enjoyed there ice creams,

Thanks for a top day,and lovely evening.

Mixed feelings about this as it is just old tractors, carriages, wheels and stuff of the era that they've compiled together to form this little village on the outskirts of Swan Hill, definitely walking distance but at $27 adult entry it adds up when there's a few of you. See it from the outside and then you can make up your mind.

My mother and I ventured into the past, and we loved it! The staff there were so friendly and helpful. We even eavesdropped, as school children were captivated by the stories being told by a staff member. There is something for everyone as you explore the grounds. We decided to go on the Pyap paddle steamer and it was lovely as we went along the Murray River. As well, we dressed in historical clothing and got our photo taken, if you have time, you should do it. All in all, a wonderful experience.
