“Very beautiful ...”
Reviewed 27 April 2014 via mobile

I have been to great ocean road 10 times but this is the only landmark I have never been to. This is because it is far if you driving from melbourne. But if you close warrnabool or the end of the great ocean road this is a must visit place.

“Worth the stop”
Reviewed 25 April 2014

We did the GOR "backwards" so this was one of our first stops and breathtakingly beautiful. As previous reviewers have stated, better than the 12 Apostles and definitely less people. We saw early in the morning when the sun was on them which made it more photographic. There are a number of walks in the area, and would encourage you do to them too. You find these other beautiful sights and bays that you would miss just driving down the road.

“Limestone rocks without the crowds”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

Although the 12 Apostles are very impressive, we preferred the experience of visiting the Bay of Islands more than we did the 12 Apostles as the crowds were non-existent.

“Start the Great Ocean Road at the right end!”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

Most people run the Great Ocean Road from the Geelong end. Thus the last thing they see, if they haven't run out of enthusiasm by then, is the Bay of Islands. And they just say "Blah." Pity because you really should drive down the main highway through the lovely country towns of Colac, Camperdown and Terang and stay overnight at the coastal city of Warrnambool. Warrnambool has many attractions of its own, but when you do venture along the Great Ocean Road from the west end, you start at the Bay of Islands. This view is expansive and gives you the best impression of the rugged coastline. There are, as the name implies, many towering "islands" within this wide view. After taking in this picture, proceed to each of the lookouts along the way back towards Melbourne, where you will see the smaller, but no less interesting, views.

“Spectacular”
Reviewed 16 March 2014

Parks Victoria, The Victorian Tourist Organization and the Great Ocean Road Tourist Group should be very proud of the magnificent way in which they show off this world class natural site. The walkways and viewing platforms are in perfect condition and it is a real joy to stroll around this area.
