A three weeks stay at Kaani beach hotel, and what a stay!! The hotel is located right on the lovely bikini beach an two minutes from the harbour. Free sunbeds on the beach, air con included as well as the saftey box. Take a beach veiw room, the only negative about the room was that it was perceptively. The breakfast was not mutch to ”write home about” but the hotell is spotless, have nice staff and located at a perfect spot at Maafushi island. You get a lot for your money here!! We went to two hotel Islands and enjoyed it, they can help you at the front desk with almost every request/day or sleep over trip! No alcohol on the local islands and we liked it, just a reminder!!

This was a very nice place to stay during our 2019 trip. We booked excursions with nearby tour companies and scuba shops in the area and had a good time. The accomodations are basic and the food on the island has room for improvement but overall friendly service and met my expectations for a remote island in the Pacific. I do not expect food on the level of Paris when in such a remote location. They should however get some more chefs on the island and offer some middle eastern food or whatever. The water is clean and splendid and the main point is to get sleep and food and get out into the water to see marine life. This hotel gives you respite from the heat and good basic services. There are cheaper hotels which do the same job but without the premium views this hotel offers. unfortunately there was a new hotel being constructed next door which will take over the prime sea views of many rooms.

Oh man, where to start and how to be short and precise! This was a wonderful stay, we knew that the Maldives would be a beautiful paradise with cristal waters, beautiful sea life, hot weather (and hot sea water as well!) but what we didn't know is that the locals are SIMPLY WONDERFUL. Kind, available, always smiling, very peaceful. This hotel was no exception. I took the time to written down the names of everyone that did their job correctly and with pleasure! You just have to praise all the people that love what they do! So thank you Anas, Najah, Misberh, Michele, Jayanti, Aiman, you were all so nice and helpful and I have asked to many questions, I know! THANK YOU for your service. In the restaurant they were also very kind!

The room was VERY well cleaned, everyday! The cleaning guy (forgot to ask his name, I am sorry) did a great job!

Honestly come to Maafushi and stay in this hotel. You will love it! The bikini beach is right in front (choose a room with a sea view of course). We stayed on the 3rd floor ans the view was magnificent. The island is clean, walkable, safe, cheap, tourist friendly, all you want! Even the doctor and nurses at the health center were just amazing.

We have to thank everyone on this island for all the care they have given us.
A paradise wouldn't be as special without the people in it.

Serious safety incident

This hotel is very poorly run to begin with and there is no accountability for any of the inexperienced, ineffective and frankly lazy staff that work at the front desk. That's just the beginning of it. There is a boat you can get booze on at night and the music is so loud that you need not want to sleep before 1am or sleep late after 8am because of construction noise. I complained about this only to be shrugged at and ignored. It was clear nothing would be done about it. They either couldn't be bothered or didn't care. The result was the same. The rooms are run down, out of repair and the walls are thin. You can hear the other guests in their rooms and the doors are poorly fitted so light streams in and you easily hear others walking by at all hours.

I also had to endure constant unwanted sexual attention and cat calls from Sakthivel, the 'Guest Relations' guy..... AND THEN further unwanted advances from one of the boat drivers on a day excursion. He actually touched me inappropriately and asked me bluntly to go have sex with him in my room. I refused. I told Sakthivel about it the next day, but once again nothing was done about it. He even tried to get me to go down to the beach alone with this man to see the plankton. I had to be blunt and refuse. It was at this point that things became clear to me. These guys are buddies and looking to help each other have a good time with single female guests.

The boat driver kept coming around to the hotel to find me and I often had to stay in my room to avoid either cat calls from Sakthivel or more unwanted sexual advances from the boat driver. I was asked on more than one occasion to bring him to my room. I was also offered alcohol, which is banned on the island. These two guys could arrange whatever you wanted. I'm sure you'd have to pay for it in other ways as that was completely obvious.

The food is absolutely terrible. Breakfast is nothing more than rice, boiled hot dogs passed off as sausages, boiled eggs, two cereals, water, apple juice, undercooked raw potato wedges and pot noodles. I ordered from the menu at one stage but that was even worse. Salty, watery and poorly prepared. The popadums were so greasy that the oil dripped into my clothing.

In the end I was so disappointed and disgusted with this hotel management team than when Sakthivel blamed me for his receptionists' error on my final bill I had to speak up. He insisted i was wrong. He played dumb and refused to listen to me and his complete and utter lack of professionalism became apparent when he refused to allow the receptionist to come to the boat with me to say farewell. I walked to the boat alone after spending quite a bit of money at this hotel and then being blamed for someone's else's error. It was his last personal dig at me to deny me the service I paid for. He didn't get sex, so I was punished.

The woman at the desk (I don't know her name) was kind and helpful but Sakthivel was determined to punish me for making light of his unprofessional and arrogant behavior. This excuse of a man needs to be disciplined for his disgusting and horrible behavior.

I will be contacting the manager of this hotel directly as soon as possible. I am completely disgusted at sakthivel's behavior and he is a liability to this hotel.

I didn't know who to turn to to report the sexual harassment so I left all alone but I will not return to this hotel again. I've traveled to over 100 countries in my life and this is by far the worst I've ever encountered. Stay clear of this place.... Spend a bit more to enjoy decent food, security and a good night sleep.

First of all i would not rate it as 4 stars. 3 stars maybe.

Its a short walk from the jetty but there will be someone who will receive you upon arrival. We were introduced to the hotel and activities by Mr micheal jackson who is very cheeky , friendly and helpful throughout our stay :0 There are 3 establishments under Kaani so dont get confused. Beach hotel is 8 years old so do expect some flaws.

Lobby was spacious and looked newly upgraded which is linked to the dining room which was clean . But take note : alot of lizards!

Rooms (no.101) : At first glance everything looks new until scrutinized. There are plenty of black marks on the wall and the bed seems worned out & hard. But it was really spacious and the balcony is pretty big too which have a place to hang our clothes. Balcony is facing the sea BUT mostly the view is the playground and trees. Room is equipped with aircon, fan, flat screen tv , safe box and fridge . Note to always lock ur balcony door as your neighbouring balcony Partition is low enough for someone to climb into yours.
Toilet is very spacious and feels very clean. To give credits. There seems to be an upgrade of amenities in the rooms and toilets which was a Pro. I hope they will paint over the marks and change to new beds to up their stars!

Wifi was intermittent which can be a con for some.

Location is great. Right beside is the convinient store and a big souviener shop.

We took the half board package with breakfast and dinner. Food was tasty and the staffs were very efficient . There is an outdoor dining area , i reckoned only for weekends which have live station.

Side note : Maldives in general seems very strict about the notes when u pay . Make sure there are no small tear or they will not accept it. My friend couldnt use his 100 usd due to a small tear which was given by money changer.

All in all, it is a great stay. Activities were run smoothly . Would try the kaani grand in the future though!
