We've been on a number of wine tours in the past of varying quality, and were keen to see what 'the best of the best' had to offer. We're happy to say that we weren't disappointed!
As foodies who love their wine, Sean started out the tour by asking us all what we'd like to see and more importantly, what we like to drink. We knew the day wouldn't be packed with fly by night winery visits in a crowded bus (yuk), which is exactly what we wanted (this tour is 6 people max).
We visited a couple of wineries, at the first we were lucky enough to be taken through tasting by one of the owners. But the highlight for us was the degustation lunch with wine matching at Cape Mentelle. Amazing guide (Susan?) knows her stuff, and the tasting plate was amazing, made even more so with the wines we drank.
We rounded out the day with a 4WD to the coast which was quite spectacular (we even saw dolphins...!).
Sean made recommendations for local attractions, cafes and restaurants to visit and was spot on. He's very passionate about Margaret River and all it has to offer (quote Margaret river makes only 3% of the country's wine but 30% of these are the best!). All this and I'm now converted to a chardonnay drinker (Margaret River of course!). We just have to wait for the cases of wine we ordered to arrive now...
Thank you Sean!
p.s. some other great things may have happened... but the first rule of the tour was don't talk about the tour... I may have even said too much...(ha ha)

We tagged on a few days in the Margaret River area following a trip to Perth for a conference. With limited time we decided that even though we had a hire car, a tour would be the best way of seeing some of the area. We had an absolutely fantastic day. Sean has put in some much research into finding places that even locals probably never see. He was also really helpful with advice on what to see during the remainder of our time, restaurants to visit etc. We have done several wine tours in the past and this was so much better.

We really really loved the whole experience. Sean was really friendly and superbly knowledgable about Margaret River and the wine there. The visit to Cape Mentelle with the tasting and food pairing was a unique and extraordinary experience, but it is not for those with dietary restrictions ... although to be fair they really tried to accomodate. The brief cape walk and honey tasting were amazing and we really felt like we were experiencing something non-touristy, wonderful and special. The bonus visit to Fraser Gallop was a great extra.

This has to be one of our favourite tours so far in Australia. My boyfriend and I are backpackers from Canada who decided to do a tour because we loved Margaret River the first time but didnt know what to do or see. This day had a taste of everything. Sean was an amazing host and so knowledgable. We saw things that most people there wouldn't touch and it was an experience that we will always remember. We absolutely adored the canoe trip in the morning as it was so peaceful and quiet (who know places could be so tranquil). Thank you Sean :)
