“Very cosy cottage nestled among the trees”

Vey cosy cottage nestled among the trees
What a wonderful three day stay we had here, we would highly recommend this for those looking for a place away from home, that is very COSY, CLEAN, COMFORTABLE, RELAXING, close to Margaret River Township and wineries.
This is a family run business, and the owners are very friendly and extremely helpful, I feel they go the extra mile to make sure their guests are comfortable and well informed of places to go and see.
The cottage was very homely, with everything you need to make your stay comfortable.
Added bonus, the pool and spa on site, guest BBQ, small table and chairs on the front porch of the cottage where you can relax, have a coffee, and watch the kangaroos in the paddock next door or the birds flying around. There is a bush walking track at the back of the property for early morning or evening walks.
As we are two ladies in our late 50’s we didn’t come with children, but the property is well set up for families, where the children have plenty of space to run around, along with a small play ground, basket ball ring with a basketball, pool table, games room, .
We had no problem at all looking after and maintaining our own little cottage for the days we were there, to a clean standard, as requested by the owners, we understand this helps maintain prices to a reasonable level, with no extra cleaning charge being added.
Many thanks Margaret and husband for all your hard work and dedication in providing a wonderful place for guests to stay. We will certainly stay again and recommend your cottages to family and friends.

A very friendly welcome and a great location and wonderful setting in the trees. The cabin was very comfortable, clean and well appointed. There is a bench to sit and watch the kangaroos in the adjacent field, a real plus. This is a lovely place to stay, close to the wineries and Margaret River and is suitable for any age. I highly recommend a stay here. It is the most memorable part of my stay in Western Australia.

If you ever want to have an adventurous trip in your life the best place to go is Margaret River. And believe it or not, the best place would be to stay at Margaret River Holiday Cottages for a truly wild experience. You will be greeted by two lovely cockroaches (one is albino roach) on curtains when you decide to close the window as the time comes closer to the dusk. Unexpectedly, by a slight motion of your arm, you will kill them as albino chap jumps right on you. With 2 dead bodies on the floor and dirty arm you have no choice but to take the bodies out and let them rest in peace. With happy face and clean arms, you are back into this lovely 2 bedroom cottage and small TV with no reception. You lay down, relax and enjoy the last minutes of day light as night is coming to Margaret River. So do Earwigs. Actually hundreds of them. They are everywhere, in your bed, blankets, carpet and also bathroom. However that’s not all that you get for $265. The best feeling is when you wake up in a middle of the night as something is running around your bed! Rats!

Half asleep, you then realise that there is something above your head! You are under attack. It’s the war.

Nope its not a Batman… They are possums… Lots of them… They jump on the roof and down to the garbage bins strategically placed next to each hut, seeking out the leftovers. When you hear the possums on the roof, knock and they temporarily go away.

They wont let you sleep as their feet sound like the drummer on the stage and sleepless night is 100% guaranteed…for everything else there is a mastercard.

It feels like Possum Olympics are happening on the roof. You wake up as a morning breeze comes through open window and your day is about to begin as earwigs are gently touching your face, fondling your lips.

. Before you leave this wonderful place don’t forget to wash your dishes, clean up after yourself and do your bed! Otherwise you will be charged extra and would be told by the duty managers (who are also owners) that It’s not a hotel or motel and no one will be cleaning after you for free. We can provide you with the vacuum cleaner if it is dusty also. If we find any dirt there will be a charge.” Alcatraz!

Then question comes to you as you are suffering from a Dance with the Possums: “Should I just vacuum this place and wash towels and bed sheets too?”. When packing bags, make sure you don’t take any cockroaches, earwigs or ants. While walking to the car you realise that bodies are gone… Mortein could use this venue for the next hit commercial.

For the price, this accommodation was disapointing. The cottages were clean and comfortable but outdated. The appliances and fixtures are quite old and the cottage is sparsely furnished. We paid $165 per night. However, the distance to town was good and the owners were friendly. It has a few 'rural' charms such as sheep and rabbits roaming around the property.
