The food did not dissappoint. We shared a seafood platter, this had hot and cold seafood which was presented on a two tier stand and was delicious. The service was excellent, staff very friendly.

This was out last meal in Margs and how disappointing was it to have steak full of fat and gristle. By the time you get rid of all that you are left with a small steak. Especially as it was expensive for us. The vibe is great and the wait staff were very friendly. Situated on a corner of the main street it is very busy traffic wise. The dessert was wonderful though,

Varied menu, good selection of wine, great meal and service. Choice of restaurant and wine bar. Pleasant, comfortable atmosphere in the restaurant with good layout for couples and groups.Convenient parking and central position in the town of Margaret River. Recommended to us by the hosts at our accommodation as the best restaurant in town for good food and wine, we always take note of personal recommendation, we were very pleased with this advice.

Our experience of this restaurant was a little mixed. We didn't make a booking but were able to get a table inside (all the outside tables were reserved). It's completely BYO but you do get charged corkage ($2.50 per person). We brought sparkling and then had to wait and flag the waitress down in order to get champagne glasses and the bottle opened (that's what the corkage charge is for I presume and I have to say that in this day and age with screwcaps on wine there is no longer the skill required to open bottles for people that necessitated this charge in the first place). We ordered the seafood platter for two which was served to us quite quickly and was absolutely delicious and well presented. It was quite hot in the restaurant with a ceiling fan that didn't seem to make a lot of difference - outside is obviously a better prospect. Overall, the food was brilliant but the service patchy.

My wife and I ate here our first night in MR. On the plus side, its BYO (but so are most places in the region). The venue is nice, with a choice between outside and inside and the tables are not too crammed together. Bookings are essential in the holiday season (we were there early January) but are not too hard to get on the morning of.

The service was OK, not fanstastic, not terrible, just OK. Take that with a grain of salt, as we didn't really push them too hard, so hard to say either way.

The food looked impressive, the menu is diverse enough for a seafood restaurant and everything sounds pretty good. However in the end it comes down to execution. My biggest sticking point was the undercooked steak, I can eat a steak blue, and sometimes choose to do so, but when ordering Rare, I don't expect a restaurant chef to serve meat that is cold in the middle. I didn't send it back, but it was borderline, and anyone who can't/won't/doesn't like to eat raw meat would have sent it back. This coupled with the overcooked fish, which was dry and the flavourless sauce which accompanied it, meant that we just didn't enjoy the meal. And we weren't the only ones, the table behind us sent back the seafood risotto because the mussels hadn't been de-bearded, and as the customer stated, this is a big no-no. Seafood should be this place's bread and butter but it just didn't seem to be the case. Who knows, based on the other reviews I have seen maybe we had a night when the head chef was away and the juniors were in the kitchen, personally, I wouldnt eat there again. Next door at the Arc of Iris was much much better.
