A big thank you to Jenny and her staff. Jenny you made a problem seem nothing as you accommodated us in every way from a cancelled original booking to slotting our stay around my partners working shift. We enjoyed our stay immensely and were blown away by this beautiful old manor. Our room was comfy and just what we needed to escape the madness of the city. The frogs serenaded us to sleep both nights, excellent. Breakfast in the conservatory was delightful over looking the magnificent gardens.Nothing is too much bother as customer service should be, a dying art captured well. Thanks to all, and a mention to Max who was wonderful in our departure. PS I took a snip of the gorgeous fuchsia out front to grow in my garden to have a bit of Balildene Manor... Thanks everyone.

Without any doubt the highlight of our 2-week stay in the Margaret River region was a wonderful 5-night stay at this wonderfully characteristic Hotel. From our charming and informative greeting upon arrival to the presentation of a package of fresh scones, jam and butter on our farewell, the standard of hospitality, breakfast cuisine and all-round service by the Management Team and Staff far exceeded our expectations and we were left as 'delighted' visitors. Moreover, the setting of the hotel and its surrounding gardens were just visually stunning. A real highlight was being served afternoon Cream Tea whilst sat under a genuine English Oak Tree - and as visitors from the UK finding it hard to believe that we were only 2 weeks away from being sat at home on Xmas Eve! We both love the Margaret River region - and now we have found the perfect base. We can thoroughly recommend Basildene Manor to anyone wanting to have a really memorable visit to this fabulous region - we will certainly be coming back!

Room Tip: Suites on the West Side enjoy a magnificent view of the stunning gardens

Basildene Manor is a charming boutique hotel - the charm arising from the original historic stone house, the beautiful surrounding gardens and the helpful, friendly staff. Modern extensions have been sympathetically merged. We stayed in the original house and the room was light, fresh and immaculate, with generous hanging space. The bathroom is small but spotless and perfectly functional. The breakfast (included in the tariff) is cooked to order and delicious. I should have asked for the recipe for the cinnamon spiced fruit compote. Walcliffe Road is busy, but the hotel is set back sufficiently far, behind hedges, to ensure a quiet night. The gardens are delightful, with several lovely spots (eg, the wisteria arbour overlooking a large pond) to sample some of local wine. The Manor is only 3 kilometers away from the main dining street (watch out for RBT patrols on Walcliffe Rd) and is central to all the local attractions. The only gripe was the lovely looking pool was closed (only open in "summer") despite temperatures in the high twenties. Apparently management didn't have the discretion to open the pool.

Room Tip: Some of the modern rooms have private balconies overlooking the gardens

This is the perfect place to discover Margaret River. Beautifully renovated rooms - modern but still keeping the wonderful charm of this old Manor House. Very intimate with only a few rooms in the old Manor house and bigger suites in the new wing. Fantastic breakfast served overlooking the stunning gardens and the small lake.
And last but not least: very helpful and caring staff who made our trip fabulous!
The must-stay in Margaret River.

I stayed at the Manor for my daughter's wedding, what a beautiful location for their special day, the gardens looked amazing and the Manor's rooms were impressive. The staff were friendly and accommodating and having the use of the gardens and the whole hotel for 2 days made the weekend extra special, a bbq the next day and a friendly game of cricket was also enjoyed.
The freshly made scones we received on checkout was a lovely touch. Would definately recommend the hotel to others!!!
