“New estate with an old-style feel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2013 via mobile

Voyager estate was a very stylish and interesting place to visit. It is very new, relative to other estates, and made in an older style that reflects the history the estate seems to want to project. The staff were amazingly informative, and given that we were from Singapore they were able to provide information about purchasing the wines in Singapore and even in Singapore dollars! We did not have a chance to sample the food, as we were in a fairly large party and it was not a restaurant that was in our price range. The menu, however did look enticing and if I was here with my husband, I would probably stop for a meal.
We enjoyed the reds, particularly the VOC Wilyabrup Merlot.

“Worth A Visit For The Food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2013

The grounds and scenery is nice. You come here to see this. The whites are good.

We had lunch here. Both my partner and I had the Venison which was very good with a bottle of red. Definitely try the restaurant.

Outside the above, a negative was the $25 wine tasting. Very small serves and your just left with an electronic tablet which describes the wine. Nice white wines but this is not good enough. We were expecting greater servings and/or someone sitting with you at the least for $25pp. Other wineries offer food. We thought this was a waste of money and we felt ripped off.

“Over and above the usual service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2013

On arriving in the Margaret River from Sydney for what was a long weekend for Anzac Day we were surprised that everywhere we wanted to go for lunch was booked out. We were so appreciative that a lovely lady at Voyager Estate managed to get us a table half an hour after I enquired if there were any cancellations. We had the most fantastic meal, the food and wines were superb and Voyager certainly has the most impressive dining room out of all the big wineries. We ate the Autumn platter, Pork belly and fish followed by the local chocolate tart. Perfectly cooked and presented we couldn't have asked for anymore. Thank you for a memorable lunch and for your wonderful customer service.

“A fantastic 'behind the scenes' tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2013

We wanted to have a 'proper' tour of a vineyard - not just go on one of the tours where you visit about 6 places and taste wine at each one. So we asked at the Visitor Centre in Margaret RIver and this is one of the ones they suggested. It cost $25 per person but was really worth it. We were extremely fortunate to be the only 2 people on the tour that day so we were really spoilt. We were taken round by the sommelier, Claire Tonon, who really knew her stuff and was so enthusiastic. She drove us round the estate so we saw not just the vines but also things like the generator and water treatment plant, the cellar store and the actual winemaking area. We also had a good talk to one of the winemakers who was making Chardonnay. After the tour we went into the private tasting room (Michael's room) and Claire took us through about 8 wines, some of which were fabulous! You can also book lunch as well if you want to (as part of the tour) and the restaurant (and food) did look beautiful.

“Winery in exquisite gardens”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 March 2013

This winery has been lovingly developed by a person who not only cared for his vines, but who also enjoyed developing a beautiful rose garden with well planned hedging. The garden is a tour of its own. (No charge)
The staff were extremely friendly and informative. For 25$ we had a tour of the whole estate in an open sided bus, followed by a wine and grape juice tasting. The tour itself, scheduled to take one hour actually extended to one and half hours and showed every aspect of the estate, included machinery and watering methods as well as the vines and wine making areas.
There was no pressure to buy wine or to stay and eat in the restaurant.
The toilet facilities were worthy of a top hotel and the tasting room and all aspects of the building were superbly designed.
A local recommended us to visit this winery, and we were not disappointed. It will remain one of the highlights of our visit to Australia.
