What an amazing location and retreat.
John and Sally were fantastic hosts, sharing their hand picked wine with us and going the extra mile to make our stay very memorable.
We stayed in the Deepwater Villa which was extremely private, surrounded by beautiful natural bushland alongside a lake. The villa was very well fitted out with a large comfortable bedroom and lounge room. We really enjoyed the outdoor spa.
We highly recommend the tasting plate, so much food that it easily did us for dinner and snacks the next day.
We look forward to our next stay. Thank you.

We stayed here for three nights in December in the Deepwater Retreat, with full breakfast every morning and a sharing platter one night. The accommodations, service and food were exceptional - I can't praise the property or the owners highly enough. Sally and John were very helpful and had great recommendations for winery tours (I was organising a hens day) and taxi services (which can be very tricky around Dunsborough).

We would have stayed in hotels and apartments around the Dunsborough/Margaret River region at least a dozen times and Hidden Valley is the stand-out for us. Our only complaint was that we didn't stay long enough - we'll certainly be back for a longer stay. Many thanks to Sally and John!

We arrived to a drizzled evening with wine purchased less than 2 minutes away to Sally the owner and Daisy the beautiful dog greeting us. We drove up to the secluded lodge by where the lights had already been turned on making it out to be a "lost in the wilderness" effect. Inside one of the most amazing platters I have ever encountered. All fresh local produce, fruits, even down to home made duck pate - tastier than ones I have tried in France and Spain. The chef we had on the 2nd night, Rupert, phenomenal in his role and cooked up a fabulous and decadent 3 course meal that we had prepared in our own private lodge. The rooms themselves were comfortable, the spa was amazing with a roof to floor glass back drop, the company of white fluffy robes to the finishing touch of getting out of the spa onto heated tiles.
I have travelled around the one and stayed in some memorable accommodation from Hotels in Dubai to a Lodge in far North Queensland. This property is by far one of my top 5 places to stay. The owners are available if you need however you never see them. Set on a vineyard that also produces the best preservative wine - I will be back to stay with them over and over again.

To Sally and John - Thank you for making this stay for me a fantastic one. Your hospitality and the hard efforts you both put in is reflected in this amazing property.

Thank you
Tui.

We arrived an hour earlier than our check in, having left with plenty of time spare, as we had been concerned with finding the location. we should have followed the information that Sally sent us, as we had been warned, by Sally in our confirmation email, our GPS's did not bring us to the resort door so we went back to Sally's instructions, at which point we found ourselves quickly on the correct road. Sally greeted us with a glass of wine and a smile. After a short wait as the Wilderness cabin was checked prior to the cabin being passed to us we were escorted to the cabin and given a brief run through of the facilities. We found the cabin to be clean and the advice from Sally to be useful and friendly.
A short trip in to Dunsborough this time listening to Sally's instructions rather than our GPS which appears to be sponsored by the oil companies as it wanted to take us on a route that was twice as long as the one shown to us by Sally and we had our weekend hide out all prepared. The homemade bread was welcomed by me and the advice on the more bespoke restaurants that would be able to cater for my wife’s food allergies helped make this a very enjoyable weekend.
Excellent hosts with a Very good accommodation, the Spa in the outback was very relaxing and large enough for two “not so small” people to fit in together. The BBQ was adequate for our needs and allowed us to be secluded away from the rest of the world.

After a tough year my wife and I had found ourselves in our busy schedules of life finding very little quality time together. Time for some "us time" away from children and the demands of everyday life.

I decided to surprise her with a romantic trip away from home, but where to go. After finding Hidden Valley Forest Retreat on the net, I made a booking for two nights in "Deepwater Retreat".
Having had experiences of descriptions and pictures not living up to their promise, I was a little wary in what to expect.

We arrived to be greeted by Sally, a lovely and happy lady, who showed us to our accommodation, we followed in our car. Deepwater Retreat is situated nearly a kilometre from the main office, and a good distance from any of the other retreats, so immediately the promise of seclusion and privacy was fulfilled.
We then entered Deepwater Retreat, and wow. I watched my wife as she looked over at the outdoor spa, and then the accommodation itself, her reaction alone told me that the choice was excellent. This is in fact the best place we have ever stayed, extremely clean and with everything needed to enjoy the most romantic time away. Everything smelled so fresh and clean, crisp clean sheets, robes and plenty of towels all immaculate.

As for the privacy, again this cannot in any way be faulted, our stay lasted two days and nights, and we never saw another soul for the whole time. The time we spent there was nothing short of perfect, a real "touch of paradise". We will definitely be visiting Hidden Valley Forest Retreat again, and I have a feeling that this is going to become a very special place in our hearts. Thank you Sally and John for your amazing hospitality.

In summary, if you are looking for somewhere to reconnect with your partner, then this place fits the bill 100%.

We have recently had our second stay this year at Hidden Valley, both times in Eco Lodge 1, which has a very special place in our hearts...it's where we were engaged in August 2013.

The lodges are nicely decorated, well appointed and well equipped...even down to the soft, fluffy dressing gowns!!

Sally and John are very welcoming and accommodating. The possums are also very friendly.

If you are looking for a romantic secluded getaway with your partner, Hidden Valley Forest Retreat will not disappoint!!

We are already planning our next stay at Hidden Valley!
