The photos made the rooms look a lot bigger and cleaner than they were. First, the place is hard to get to, and there is no indication as to where the car park is, until you have checked in and received a key. The office wasn't staffed when we arrived and we had to summon someone using the buzzer on the outsdide of the buiding. The single room in particular, was much smaller than it appeared, with room for just a bed and a wardrobe. There was rubbish from the last occupant on top of the wardrobe. As for the great views offfered - our outlook was on the back of other ugly buildings and roofs. The room was serviced once during a four night stay, and before we left we ran out of loo paper and tea and coffee (and we were away at Massey for long hours during the day at a contact course), and the rubbish was overflowing big time. On our final night (a Thursday) an 'illegal' night club across the road kept us awake for hours, with extremlely loud music. The office is only staffed from 9 on in the morning, so checking out made us late for our session at Massey on the last day. There was also some confusion over our rates when paying, and when we mentioned the things we were not happy with, we were told we should have rung a staff member, but when you dial 0 after hours (the only times were were there) the message says it is for emergencies only. The staff probably wouldn't have considered our overflowing rubbish bin and lack of clean towels an emergency, so we didn't feel we could bother them outside their 'normal' hours. This was for $75 a night, which we were told was a 'reduced' rate (after complaining about the original rates). Next time I will happily pay $25-$30 extra a night for a clean, quiet motel that is serviced every day.

New Year's eve on The Square! Great to be able to have a night out and walk home as opposed to jostle amongst parked cars and traffic jams after the big night. It's an inner city hotel so it's expected to have people around - even after midnight. A great place to be if you want to walk to anywhere.

The hotel staff were very hospitable and friendly, security is impressive. Great location, good room, comfy bed...

I booked through WOTIF and the photos looked okay-I assumed the price was due to the rooms being small and bare-that was fine, we were just needing a place to sleep for a night. On arrival the duty manager could barely muster any enthusiasm to greet us, once we got in the lift saw the stained, grubby carpet we realised it wasn't going to be good.
The room was disgusting...bathroom sink blocked, shower had years of black grime around it, crockery was filthy (not washed from last people, just put in cupboard), yellow stains on the 2nd duvet, worn, pilled and grubby duvet covers/pillow slips on the top. The carpet was stained and made the room smell, theceiling panels were stained with leak marks and looked as if they would cave in at any minute, there were exposed wires on the strip lights on the ceiling. The phone didnt work-management weren't interested in fixing it when I asked. The walls are paper thin and the noise (could even hear the message alert on their mobile phone)from our next door neighbours was constant and went on till the early hours. This place is dreadful and and I would suggest your money would be better spent elsewhere.
