It was the birthday girls choice and it was a goodin. We arrived about 1 pm on a Sunday and luckily for us some tables at the back had just been vacated so they pushed 2 together for us 4.
This is clearly very popular with the older set (45 yrs plus), it was packed. Due to the open 'school hall' type space, it was very noisy. It has a nice spacious courtyard in front with 'Grecian' ornate columns.
The service was very good and prompt. T had duck, 2 of us had the kedgeree and birthday girl had potato cakes with smoked salmon. Food was very nice and tasty, nice touches of the rocket on top and spice (chilli?) sprinkled on the poached eggs to jolly them up. Their kedgeree was served with a crusty hot piece of garlic bread and instead of smoked fish, fresh fish was used. It was seasoned nicely and a combination of long grain and wild rice was used. An affagato and an apple pie was shared for desserts. The individual apple pie was generous and appeared freshly baked, it came with a big scoop of ice cream and the bf delared it was the nicest apple pie he'd ever had - it was that good! T
his is probably one of the better lunch/brunch places (foodwise) I have experienced in Palmy. It is the only place I know of that offers dishes of honey served with their tea. Lovely!
