“Clean and central”
Reviewed 28 October 2013

This hostel is located in a good central area. Its handy to the bus station, and has a great pizza shop close by. Is quiet. Didn't really see the owners, so cant comment. I did the bike trail, and the trail starts very close to hostel.

We were in Gateway Backpackers last weekend.
We reserved a double room ensuite that was very nice, number 3. Spacious and big bathroom. We think the mattress should be change some time soon because two people sleeping make the mattress to fold in the middle. Also the common bathrooms are wall to wall to the room so if the hostel is busy might be a bit noisy.
But otherwise it is very peaceful, great kitchen, dining and lounge area and especially the patio area....great for spring and summer days and nights. Located at the end of the town but in a back street, no noise from road. It is separated in two buildings with two kitchens.
We will go again but not in a busy time!

Room Tip: Test the mattresses and bathroom location
