We stayed in Lodge Bordeaux for 5 nights in a room with balcony and were really impressed with the quality of the rooms. As the photographs show, the rooms were spacious and modern. The bathroom in particular was great - huge tub, lots of storage space and plenty of light with a huge ceiling to floor mirror. We had a nice little balcony area outside. Basically, the accommodation was spacious enough to live in, let alone stay in for 5 nights. The owners were helpful and friendly. The motel is situated on a main road and is walking distance to the city centre, very handy. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed here for a few nights on business. Pretty sure the guy I met was one of the owners - had a great attitude and very helpful. Very impressed with the room itself, nicely furnished plus my room had a great kitchen area with all the necessities, as well as a huge spa bath in the bathroom (heaven!). I couldn't figure out how to turn off the light outside at night, but as I am particularly light sensitive this is likely to not be an issue for most. This is the best accommodation that I have stayed in up North so far, and the rates are definitely reasonable for the quality of the place and service. Highly recommend.

I stayed one night in this lodge. It is well-appointed and tastefully furnished. My accommodation was a large studio appartment with full catering facilities. There was a comprehensive minibar with wine at an excellent price, which off set the high cost of the room itself. It is within 700 m of the city centre. The stand-in relief managers were very helpful and welxcoming. Comfortable enough, but at the price maybe not again.

I can highly recommend a stay in this well presented clean Lodge within easy walking distance to the centre of town, comfy beds, and perfect for the busy traveller as well as tourists.

Love the plunger coffee and breakfast was well priced and on time

Room Tip: Down the back away from the road

Stayed two nights. Great room, very spacious, all the amenities were there except for a bed lamp bright enough to read by. Good position close to restaurants and city centre. Pleasant host who gave us good information about local things to do & the scenic route to our next destination.

Room Tip: Rooms further from highway are quieter.

Thank you for your review. Sorry about the bedside lamp - you should have mentioned it and we could have brought down a better lamp. It would have been no problem. We're glad that you enjoyed your stay in Whangarei and we are happy to share our experience of the beauty that is Northland.

We stayed here for 2 nights and were impressed by the high quality of the property and the rooms. We had a top floor room at the back and it was delightful, with a lovely kitchen, sitting area, separate bedroom and well appointed bathroom. We did note that rooms at the front of the property may not be so quiet on this busy road, but we would stay here again if we visited the area again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room further back on the property if traffic noise is a consideration.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay, and thank you for such a lovely review of the property. Thanks also for giving the advice regarding road noise. We have done all in our power to make the place as quiet as we can, but road noise is unavoidable on a state highway. And if we are able, and guests mention when booking, we most certainly make sure that we book a room away from the road.

We have stayed here every time we have stayed in Whangarei. Great for when we have our son or if we are just wanting a night away alone.
Clean, tidy, nice rooms and friendly hosts. Love the spa bath rooms :-)
