“Real feel of Whangarei”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 November 2013

The Town Basin in Whangarei overlooks its water source.

It is lovely overlooking the water, a lot of small shops, restaurants and cafes. For me, it represents Whangarei and what it has to offer in one go. Once here there is also the sculpture, museum, clock musuem, art house etc within walking distance.

“Must See”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 November 2013

This is a great place to sit and enjoy a coffee or a meal. All of the food outlets are great. The buildings have been beautifully restored and the shops are worth browsing through.

“A nice afternoon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2013

There is a variety of cafes to choose from. This is a peaceful place. There is a playground for children, Clock Museum, outside seating beside the river and on Sundays a food market offering a selection of food from a variety of countries. Really nice on a sunny day.

“Cosy township”

The town-basin includes a lovely little harbor and shops. I enjoyed watching the glass blowing in the back of one of the shops. The area has a unique and friendly atmosphere.
