This is a great, delicious local cafe owned and managed by Chef Mark. His coffee is the absolute best (and always hot) we have had in Whangarei. All foods, pastries are made on the premises. Local sport clubs frequently patronize the cafe, along with many professional business people and families. We drive from the Town Basin almost every day for the tastiest breakfast and coffee in the area…….and we've tried them all !

Cafe Narnia let us book the whole restaurant for our extended family in Oct 2012. There were about 40 of us on that occasion, & we were all very happy. Today we had a smaller group of 15, so booked their big table for lunch. Again, we were all very happy with our meals, the coffee drinkers said the coffee was superb, and the staff are great. Friendly, efficient and happy to make changes with individual dishes to suit. Despite the size of the group, we didn't have to wait long for either meals or drinks. The setting is quirkily attractive, a good place to go if you are eating alone too as they have lovely little library available. The fur coats you walk through to get to the loo are a fun touch, referencing the name.
