The hosts are wonderful. They are welcoming and if I asked for the impossible they would have tried to oblige.

The rooms are of good size and comfortable. A bit dated especially in the kitchen and bathroom.

The motel is on a main road and thus there is a lot of traffic including heavy trucks from about 5:30 am until midnight. With a few throughout the night.

On our honeymoon and we've stayed before, and liked it so much we've done it again! :)
Friendly staff who aim to please, clean comfortable rooms, and no noise issues.
Definitely highly recommended, and a good overnighter spot, when heading to the Bay of Islands.

This motel is lovely. It’s located on the main road, but is well protected from the street noise by greenery. The rooms are self-contained and well furnished. Cooking facilities are great and there are plenty of cutlery, crockery and utensils. The full-size fridge and Sky with a full range of channels including movies are definitely a bonus. The bed is comfy enough to get a good night sleep although once we did get woken up early in the morning by some inconsiderate guests. Overall, it's a great place to stay in Whangarei.

On our way to Russell, and we needed to be in Whangarei on Monday morning to pick up our marriage license, as we were to be Married in Russell on the Wednesday - so we decided to stay in Whangarei overnight, rather than travel up from Auckland, after flying in from Australia.

We had looked up a few places online, but hadn't booked anything.
Cherry Court looked nice - ground floor units, easy access, close to town, so we dropped in to see if they had a room - which thankfully they did!

We got a sweet little room, and whilst all the rooms are close to the road, we didn't find the traffic to be an issue at all, and barely heard it, unless we were outside - and then it was only barely a hum.

Whilst the bathroom was a little cramped, this is reflected in the price, and when only doing an 'overnighter or two', this really isn't an issue anyways.

The staff were friendly, accepting, and helpful, advising of the location of supermarkets, food close by, gave us maps - and we're just generally pleasant, welcoming and available.
They even told us about their pay for 6, stay 7 arrangement with other motels throughout NZ.

This was also one of the very few places that we stayed (without aircon) that was thoughtful enough to include a fan in the room.
Very much appreciated by us!!

We will be back for a return visit, and will recommend to others.

we were delighted with our motel unit. Although only the two of us we had a unit that slept 5 so we were able to put our bags into the bedroom and shut the door. Jim and Gail, who own the motel were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The unit was spotless, the TV ran all the Sky channels and there is 6 hours of free internet each day. The noise from the main road did not bother us. The units were serviced by midday at the latest so when we got back from being out there were clean towels and our rubbish and papers were gone. The laundry had a commercial size washing machine and dryer. We did not use the Spa but saw people going in and out. They seemed to be busy with most of the units occupied.
And the price is the cheapest we have ever come across.

when we arrived the hosts told that as we were staying for four nights, they had upgraded us. There were only two of us but we had a massive room that slept 5 including a separate bedroom. The room was very spacious and seemed to have been updated with new furnishings, crockery etc. Unfortunately this motel is right on the main road, as are virtually all the motels in Whangarei, and the room's bedroom backed onto the main road. Although there is a high fence and plenty of bushes in between and because we wanted the window open, not much sleep as had due to traffic. We didn't complain about this but happened to mention it in passing to one of the cleaners who unbeknownst to us, told the owners. They offered to move us to one of the units furthest away from the road. This we accepted and they moved everything for us, we just had to pack up. The noise was reduced. The only unfortunate thing about our new room was that there wasn't a power point within reach of a mirror so difficult to see what you're doing with your hairdryer.

Room Tip: Room 14 is upstairs and one of the furthest from the road.
