This could have been a five star rating - if it were based on food only. Our dining experience at the Killer Prawn, however, left us no choice but to give it a one star.
My wife and I ordered the seafood platter, the paella, the broadbill, a beer and a glass of white wine for a total of 150 dollars. The meal started well, but shortly after the arrival of the seafood platter, flies began circling our table. Eventually, one dropped into the 8-dollar glass of wine, which was still half full at the time.
When we brought this to the attention of the wait staff, we were told that they do not consider live insects that land in food or drink after serving "food quality problems", and that because some of the wine in the glass had already been consumed, there was nothing the restaurant could do. One waiter insisted that even though Killer Prawn is an indoor restaurant, flies in the dining area are not their problem.
Effectively, we were forced to either pay full price for half a glass of drinkable wine, or alternatively, drink the rest of the wine with a live fly in it.
A restaurant that takes no responsibility of its dining environment and shows no concern of its customers does no deserve any review rating but the lowest. We do not recommend Killer Prawn to anyone.
