“Good place to try modestly priced crayfish”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

We went for an easy lunch, and were happy with our meal. Fresh crayfish, good salad and garlic bread. Rice OK. Our kids had salmon and liked it a lot.

You cannot compare or rate this as an indoors restaurant. It is a kiosk by the road, where you eat outdoors. With this in mind, and the fact that crayfish will usually be very expensive and not necessarily fresher or better tasting, this is a really nice place to go for some casual dining.

“Out-of-town - a real gem”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

We just happened to find this kiosk, driving between Kaikoura township and the peninsula. We just had to stop and have a meal there. A lovely sunny day, we thoroughly enjoyed sitting under an umbrella, eating scallop and crayfish dishes. Beautifully cooked and prepared too.

“The most divine picnic I've ever had!”
Reviewed 11 May 2014

What a fun first stop in Kaikoura! We had passed Nin's Bin on the way into town, and I'm so glad we waited. Picking out our crayfish and the $ we wanted to spend was a nice way to set our options. We also had scallops, split the seafood stew, rice (since I'm gluten free, was so glad they had this option) and salad, plus my hubby had some bread. For people complaining about wanting better bread, etc.... relax!!! It's Kaikoura, you're on vacation, the bulk of the cost of your meal is for crayfish and it's MUCH cheaper here than overpriced restaurants, plus you have the charm of eating outside and people/sheep watching. Loved it!

“Good but under expectation”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

We went there as everyone recommends it.
However it is slightly under our expectation. It seems not to be that fresh live crayfish but frozen.
Overall tasted good.
