“Worth the visit in summer”
Reviewed 29 April 2013

Been here twice over two summers and it is a must do in Kaikoura. The farm is closed in winter if I am not mistaken.

The place is really nice and there are accommodation available. There is a small charge to enter the gardens, NZD2-4 (can't recall). On a brilliant day, your pictures can be absolutely stunning.

The shop has all things lavender and the price is cheaper than buying it outside. The lavender oil is good and so is both the massage oil and cream.

Food wise, the ice cream is worth a try on a hot day.

I would recommend this place. It is near the exit of Kaikoura heading towards Blenheim or Nelson and is not far if you are on a day visit from Christchurch.

“Beautiful and cozy stay”
Reviewed 25 April 2013

We loved staying at Lavendyl Farm. From the beautifully designed cottage to the outdoor bathtub, wandering the gardens to the fresh bread and farm eggs delivered to your steps - it was a great experience. The owners are friendly and clearly take pride in the space. It is a short ride to many places in kaikoura, but we love this oasis off the main strip.

Highly recommended for couples and families with a baby or child.

“"Quiet and peaceful"”
Reviewed 23 March 2013

We had two nights at Lavendyl Lavender Farm which were very relaxing. The location is quiet and very beautiful with lovely views of the mountains. We were fortunate to view them with a dusting of snow. The breakfast provided was generous with free range eggs and fresh home-made bread delivered to our door (warm). Thank you Jan.

“A very enjoyable experience”
Reviewed 24 February 2013

We had two nights at Lavendyl which we really enjoyed. The location is stunning and very peaceful. The gardens are beautiful with breathtaking views of the mountains. There are lots of lavender products for use in the rooms and the breakfast provisions are generous with free range eggs and fresh home-made bread. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience.

“A restful change from the rest of Kaikoura”
Reviewed 15 February 2013

If you want a peaceful break from everything else in Kaikoura this is a good place to go. Beautiful gardens which while mainly, obviously, of different forms of lavender also contain other plants - unlike most lavender farms this is not just rows of lavender but laid out as proper gardens. A very pleasant place to stroll around well worth the two NZ dollar entrance fee. And everywhere that beautiful scent.

A nice little gift shop where you can buy lavender and similar products but also enjoy a coffee served in fine bone china.

Altogether a charming place
