So pleased we chose to stay here. Setting is idyllic and we slept almost 12 hours both nights due to the combination of real peace and quiet, and the heavenly scent of lavender! Quick and friendly welcome and show around the cottage (we were in Kowhai), but left to relax and enjoy our surroundings without intrusion.
Wholeheartedly recommend these little cottages for some relaxation and charm. The lavender farm shop is also lovely and very tempting.

When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by host Corry. The cottage was clean and cozy and the surroundings were stunning. The beautiful lavender gardens, the view of the snowy mountain peaks and the lovely sheep made our stay so peaceful and relaxed. We enjoyed the delicious lavender tea and lavender biscuits and of course, the warm homemade bread for breakfast. Would love to come back one day.

We stayed in the Mahoe Cottage and it was amazing. The cottage was clean and comfortable and the surroundings were amazing, the gardens are beautiful and so peaceful and relaxing. The fresh bread delivered to your doorstep for breakfast with all sorts of fresh jams, eggs and even lavender cookies all made for a wonderful stay.

Great Welcome from Corry to this delightful cottage with home baking, {including kiwi shaped lavender shortbread biscuits and fresh bread and scones in the morning}, and posy of seasonal flowers from the garden when we arrived. We much enjoyed the outside bath - (just like everyone else) with lashings of lavender water - luxury. The lavender farm garden is exquisite, beautifully laid out. We spent hours spotting varieties of lavender, thyme, rosemary and manuka and all of us wishing that garden enthusiast friends and family were there to share it with us. The location at the mountain foot with snow still on the tops and the coast nearby was an added bonus - and we all found delightful lavender products made from farm produce to take home with us. If it wasn't 25 hours flying time away I'd be a regular visitor!

The smell of lavender in the air and the sounds of sheep will be what you wake to in the morning during your cottage stay at this peaceful enclave. The delicious warm bread baked by the host accompanied by jams and honey and fresh eggs gave us the impetus to head out and meet the lambs in person. The garden is lovely and peaceful.

We stayed here for two nights in early December 2012 - two adults and three teenagers. We were on a two week driving holiday exploring the South Island.
1. The stay here must have been one of the most wonderful and memorable time of our trip. Corry was a wonderful host, and we felt pampered with the whole loaf of warm bread (all wrapped in teatowel) every morning, fresh free range eggs and delicious butter lavender cookies, jam and juices.
2. The teenagers loved the vast lavender farm - running, smelling and just lying on the grass. The bathroom in our cottage was luxuriously complimented with lavender soap, shampoo, lotion and water.
3. The cotatge was a little small for the 5 of us, but it didn't really matter as we were outdoor most of the time - we cooked breakfast and dinner and ate in the garden. For the whole 3days and two nights we felt that the whole farm was ours.
4. There are many activities to do - we hiked up the mountains, drove and saw the baby seals at the waterfall, swam with the dusky dolphins and at the end of the day just soaked in the wonderful lavender bath tub.
5. This is the only place that we stayed in New Zealand that had free wifi, most of the other places charge for wifi.
6. I would definitely come back to stay here, and would highly recommend it. What a wonderful, relaxing, refreshing and beautifully scented place!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Lavender Farm. In many respects the surrounding is exceptional. The lavender garden is an amazing place and all the lavender products are wonderful. The owners have done an amazing job altogether. There is an unusual sense of details in the house. The breakfast bread and the apricot lavender marmalade and the lavender honey get an A+ or a 10/10 from me. The only drawback for me was that the Mahoe cottage is cute but a little small, especially the bathroom, so I would advise guests who like more space to go for the other cottage. Also it should be noted that the cottages are very close to eachother so you can see your neighbours through the windows. The Maohe cottage is attached to the owners' own house, but you can still have some privacy.
