We have travelled for 6 weeks and have mixed experiences of restaurants from fantastic to 'why was this place recommended at or accommodation". This restaurant I found on this site and knew that not only would we have lunch but we would stay the night so lunch could be long and leisurely. When we arrived for lunch I realised that the dinner menu looked really inviting, so asked if it would be a problem if we had a light lunch and then dinner. It was no problem at all so we ordered a seafood chowder and a bruschetta. I've never like seafood chowder but will always taste it just to be sure. Well! This was so good I had to fight to get my spoon in the bowl as Shane said it was the best he had ever tasted as well! What a good start. Dinner was entrée of the most delectable green lipped mussels in white wine sauce followed by groper for one and beef burgundy for me. The beef burgundy had huge chunks of meat, mushrooms and onions and a really delicious sauce and the groper was cooked to perfection. We followed this by spoiling ourselves with a creme brûlée and chocolate fondant which we shared. Delectable! What was great was that we waited while the seafood chowder was freshly made and the beef burgundy was being cooked in the afternoon while we wandered through a delightful forest walk on the property. Our hosts were fabulous and the kind of people we would have liked to spend more time with ( I even scored a cuddle from 3 year old daughter before we left). To top it all off the chef shared his ingredients for the mussel sauce and his method of poaching eggs the next morning. Thank you Viv ans Shannon for the best experience of our trip.
