Had been told to try the Sea food platter at the Paua Rock, 15 minute drive south of Kaikoura. Finally made it!! Restaurant dated but clean, hosts very friendly. Good parking off road. A bar as well if you want to partake of an ale or two. Slightly noisy with the patrons. Food was excellent, one platter between two adults left us feeling very content with what we had eaten!! Very large serving for $40 so well worth the money. Not all sea food battered or fried which was great. Mussels presented in their shells with a delicious salsa on top, a prawn cocktail also on the plate with a very fresh tasty salad and fries. Scallops, twisted prawns and some fish bites along with some oysters and another dish of prawns done in a butter sauce made for a very filling delicious meal. There was also a children's menu with the usual of fries, chicken nuggets, hot dogs etc. Steaks are also available plus a take away sandwich bar.
