Quiet, clean and friendly park. Owners were great to deal with and could not have been more friendly and helpful. A full range of activities were availble to book at front desk. This is not your big caravan park with a big play ground but a nice quiet, clean and friendly park.

This park is very small with about a dozen ensuite caravan sites at Pt Vernon in Hervey Bay, Qld. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Sites are a reasonable size, the pool is on the small side but very nice, the BBQ area clean and tidy. It's across the road from the sea (but this can only be accessed via rocks) and only a 10 minute drive into the heart of Hervey Bay. It is quiet and peaceful and there is a lovely walking/bike path that follows the coast - a great place for a walk or in our case, a bike ride. Probably best for couples as there is not a lot of room for children to play. Rates were very reasonable for ensuite sites although we did not need this facility as we have an ensuite in our caravan. Would be happy to stay there again.

We stayed at Sunlodge recently for 3 nights in a unit fronting the ocean. Even though the units are old, they were very clean and catered for all of our needs We found the hosts very welcoming and helpful. It was so nice to be away from the clamour and noise of the township. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: The rooms fronting the ocean are nice, however we have stayed in a cabin which was very satifactory...

We had a lovely stay at Sunlodge oceanfront park, the cabins were bright, clean and had everything you needed. The park was very attractive and well maintained with vegetables growing infront of each cabin. The pool and bbq area were always clean and tidy, and it was a very peaceful, quiet place probably not perfect for children as it only had a pool and no play area but in turn that made it perfect if like us you wanted a quieter child free stay. One of the high lights was the bird feeding twice a day where about 50 wild parrots and magpies came to feed at the front of the park, a lovely experience. Carl and Nerida were the perfect hosts, the most helpful and friendly place we had stayed. They couldnt do enough for us helping us book our whale trip and generally taking care of us. The only thing you might like to consider before booking this place is its proximity to town, its a long way out and you need to get in the car to get anywhere, but perfect if you had acess to push bikes as you are right next to the bike track that takes you along the esplanade. We would definitely go back!

Although the advertising promises "beach front" don't expect to be able to gain easy access the beach accross the road (unless you are a mountain goat). To get down to the beach you have to negotiate a very steep "track" through overgrown grasses and scrub.
The rooms at this tourist park are very tired. The furniture is miss-matched and looks like it has been purchased at garage sales or charity shops. The kitchen cabnets and wardrobe unit in our unit smelt of age and dirt.
The bed was comfortable and came with nice fresh linen.
The location is nice although we were very disappointed not to be able to access the beach.
Overall, we were most disappointed with the quality of the place especially when friends were staying close-by in a much nicer place for less cost.

We booked in at the Sunlodge Oceanfront Tourist Park by Internet, and right from the start we were impressed with the efficiency and friendliness. On arrival we were really pleased with the unit, and delighted with the view (sea and sunsets from the unit) and proximity of the beach and BBQ areas. Barbara and Gerry made us really welcome, and couldnt have been more helpful. We felt like family! The camp facilities were immaculate, and all the campervaners and unit users we talked to were very happy there. Barbara booked our trips to see the Whales and to Fraser Island. We arrived quite late so we had to walk to the store to get food before getting breakfast in the morning, so suggest you do a quick shop on the way if you are arriving late. A push bike would be handy, but the bus calls at the front door when called to come. It is peaceful...away from the bustle. There's a restaurant just along the beach a bit. And there's the birds and the sunsets... and the kangaroos at dusk just down the road! Ah yes, we will go there again!
