The hotel was gorgeous - with a beautiful pool and the most amazing views over the port. The room was lovely with a huge jacuzzi bath. Excellent location for a wide range of restaurants at the harbour and for the trips to Fraser Island.
However, on our first night there was a huge electrical storm which cut the power to the hotel from sundown until about 11pm. The staff at the hotel had no emergency lighting except in the reception and the reception staff advised us that we couldn't sit in the reception as it was about to close - even though the reception was allowing a tour group to stay there. We chose to ignore the receptionist - and the tour group did offer that we join them for the dinner that they'd managed to find. But we drove out - in very very dark streets to a neighbouring town for takeaway - all the restaurants in the harbour had had to close.
Would definitely stay there again - but would take the torch we bought at a nearby petrol station!
