YUK! - where to start....the room smelt of urine, rubbish in the room, the chair in the hallway was taped together with selotape, the reception toilets were broken, rubbish everywhere on bathroom floor - looked like a demolition junkyard. Room sliding door wouldn't lock, staff didn't have my booking of a few weeks ago, no receipt given after paying cash. Didn't dare touch the tea and coffee in the room. Would have been happier sleeping on the airport chairs!.......I stayed at this motel years ago and it was fine, new owners need a kick up the bum and get there act together.......! - shame on you. - the only thing that was clean, was the linen.

I am so ashamed that there is a place like this in NZ still offering accomodation. Nearly a week after staying here I am still revolted and shudder to think I stayed here at all. I could write a book!!! We arrived at 1.30am with 4 hours before we needed to be at the airport after our plane connection was cancelled and we had had to drive 5 hours instead. With a 24hr flight ahead we were looking forward to a nice hot shower, cup of tea and as much sleep as we could squeeze in.The photos looked OK. Dream on, the place was DISGUSTING. There is no way I would even step into the shower box-the tiling was sunken in places and the grouting was black. As I went to use the toilet the seat fell right off revealing black gunge. One pillow stunk so much we couldn't use it. There was no heater, one bed had no duvet. The room stunk very badly of cigarette smoke+uncleanliness. Even if we had wanted a shower there was only one hand towel in the room. No tea/coffee or anything except 2 lonely cups. The phone was smashed, the clock filthy, the chairs stained-maybe had been used for a toilet by someone very desperate... In the public toilets in the foyer one toilet had a 45degree lean(no kidding!), the tiles were sunken on one side about 10cm and the only other available was full of unmentionables sitting in a black bowl. I have stayed in cheap places before and enjoyed a sparse clean environment but this was straight out of a horror movie...YUCK! This place needs taking off all accomodation sites NOW!!!

Room Tip: this place is unrateable DO NOT STAY HERE

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here a few days ago and were straight away given the right impression of the place by how outdated and un-kept the place looked.
We had a double room which had sliding doors leading out to the car park but one of the big window panes had been replaced by some wood and the door didn't seem like it would do much to keep someone out. The lamp shade above the bed was broken and just left that way and the sink had a huge crack in it that again was left untouched.
The Indian owners weren't particularly pleasant and i even over heard one of the older fellas working there
have a go at a guest for no reason what-so-ever and was just rude basically to her.
However, i've got to say that it really wasn't all that bed in the end. Yes, the place is a bit of a dump but there are positives to take from it. We got given free unlimited wi-fi internet there and it was a good speed which in all was better than we were given in some really nice and a lot pricier places we stayed. There is a free shuttle service to the airport at any hour of the day you need it, the TV had a good range of SKY channels (not sport) and the place was by far the cheapest place we found near to the airport, therefore saving the cost of potentially travelling in from cheaper hostels etc in the city.
I would definitely say that if your a backpacker or someone that needs the cheapest room possible and to be near to the airport then this place will do the job. We had a good enough nights sleep and the rooms heater worked a treat so we were happy.

I wish I'd read these reviews beforehand. The place has not changed. Was there 2 July 2012. Place was dirty, smelly and my children were paranoid we'd be attacked. Even as you drove up to the place alarm bells rung, it just got worse. Waited 40 minutes to be checked in and downhill from there. Filthy, grubby shower and toilet. Pillows were very stained, cups dirty. Place smelt, foyer not at all like in professional photos. Avoid at all costs. Thers's so much better for similar monies. If we hadn't already paid we'd have left. In hindsight should have left. NOT PLEASANT EXPERIENCE AT ALL. TRAVELLER BEWARE!!!!!!!

We turned up last weekend with a large group of kids & adults to stay for a couple of days. We only survived 15mins at this abolishment of a place & quietly marched our kids & parents out the door. Mohammad is the manger who lives at the back of the hotel was contacted that night by a staff member to come & fix the situation and clean the mess!. Lucky for us the deal was a cash payment on arrival which I am so thankful not one cent was spared!.

Couldnt recommend this place at all - the first room was dirty - broken and smelt like someone had cooked crystal meth in the room - when we decided our eyes were burning too much and our skin getting itchy we rang the front desk and went into a marginally better but still terrible room for the night

spend another $20 and stay somewhere a little bit nicer - i am embarrassed to say i stayed here

Room Tip: stay somewhere else
