“Bedbugs”

Unfortuneately our overnight stay at the Silveroaks Inn was not a pleasant one. After being on a long flight with kids, we were all very tired. The woman who picked us up in the shuttle at the airport, didn't speak to us or help us with our luggge. We ended up with bedbugs, which was not the ideal end to our family holiday. It is however close to the airport and reasonably priced, but I would not stay again.

We stayed here a night before heading for our overseas trip. I would not stay here again. We had a family of four and after not being able to find our booking they put us in a room with 1 double and 1 single bed. Got a room change and one of the beds in there had bedbugs. This ruined a few days of the overseas holiday as it was hard to enjoy because of the itchiness. I stay in various levels of accommodation on a regular basis and have never experiences bed bugs before at them.

We booked two rooms for 5 adults for two nights and the price was reasonable. There was ample parking and reception was done efficiently. It was easy to drive to the airport and to nearby expensive convenience stores and dairies. These are the good points.

The free internet did not reach the rooms at the block of rooms we stayed at due to no router, a NZ$90 unit, to extend the range was fitted, We had to stand outside the office to tend to our internet needs, they were not happy to let us sit in the small reception room so we stood outside in the rain.

There was no shower tray and the water from the shower drained into a drain hole on the common floor which wetted the toilet and wash basin area making it very unpleasant to use the toilet after the shower was used.

TV channels were limited, there were a noisy group next door who made a lot of noise in the night as they kept their door opened so that smokers outside could inter-act with those inside.

General cleanliness was lacking, they should train the cleaning staff and issue them with proper cleaning equipment and chemicals

Room Tip: Try to get a room near the office if internet is needed, office is closed till 8am so if you need an...

The positives are that the front desk staff are sooo helpful and pleasant; going 'above and beyond' in their service for their guests. Also the airport shuttle service was excellent.

However, the room is absolutely filthy and we saw biting insects there. Carpets and beds all need throwing away and new ones buying.

We stayed here for 3 nights. We weren't given a friendly welcome at reception, the rooms are really dated and didn't feel clean. There were a roudy group of revellers who partied until the early hours which the management would have clearly heard but did nothing about. It was unfortunately for us as we had a very early morning flight, so basically didn't get any sleep.
The walls are paper thin to the extent that the couple next door ended up rocking our bed (Alot)when they were making love! The airport service runs every 30 mins which was convenient for us.

The front staff at reception were friendly on arrival but a bit more meaning to would get them better feed back. The room allocated tired, silver coating coming of the chairs leaving a rusty looking appearence, fridge must have had a quick wipe out, food remnants from the past guest, shower room really needs some attention cleaning and maintance wise. the whole place just needs a darn good clean, there is no quality control from management checking the cleaning staff. The TV is old large square box, what really is annoying they dont have a microwave in the units for a motel thats really the pits as they are so cheap to buy, told by the staff they only have two. Come on you owners invest some of the takings back into the place and keep your clients. For the money go some where else you will get a better and cleaner up market motel for the same price, theres plenty around the area, I did

Welcoming reception and very good special offer breakfast delivered on time to our room. Sadly they are the only positives. Accommodation very tired, fridge rusty, bathroom door badly damaged, shower cubicle an absolute disgrace with extensive mould. Whole room was shabby and in need of a good clean. Only non flat screen TV throughout our stay in NZ and with no remote control. Didn't research this area enough, suggest you do.
