“The cigarette burns on the carpet, was the final nice touch to a dingy awful poo hole with lying staff”
Reviewed 16 September 2009

We booked our room through Wotif during a Wotif Sale, we had low expectations of a cheap airport motel and the Comfort Inn Airport Silver Point failed to meet even the lowest of expectations.

On arrival it transpired that the room we had secured and paid for through Wotif had been booked to someone else, leaving us with the lower value room with insufficient beds. The Duty Manager was initially apologetic that we had been booked into a lower value room and offered to put a stretch camp bed in the room for our daughter.

We decided to call Wotif, as they guarantee that once the room is paid for it is secured, a following conversation saw the Duty Manager change her tack and accuse us of lying and misunderstanding the definition of what a Queen and a Single Bed really meant.

We were offered an upgrade double the price we paid to a rate not even noted on their website and I was told that I should be grateful because the rooms were normally $180, again no evidence of such a price.

The room itself was dirty, we shared our final night in Auckland with the bugs roaming the room. This is definitely a must avoid hotel, whatever the price !!

One of those places that has you scratching days after..stay here if you want to shower with a spiderweb over your head, walk over bugs running around the floor, and dry yourself with a towel that looks like someones wiped their tyres with it. Also if you'd to pay extra for beds that aren't there, a downgrade on arrival (because u got it on sale u should be grateful) and then staff that lie when you complain to your booking agent, heres just the place. The cigarette burn holes in the carpet and no airconditioning were awesome finishing touches. We went out all night and left at 4 in the morning and it still managed to make us wish we'd lay on an airport bench overnight.

I recommend that you never stay here. Tiny room with no kitchenette that overlooked a paddock with sad houses on the other side. No air conditioning so the room was sweltering as there was no windows and you can't leave the sliding door open at night or even in the day as the area is unsafe. Don't bother ordering breakfast, unless you like cheap brown bread with no butter as they don't have all the items on the menu and they don't tell you this and when you ring up reception they can't speak English and they can't understand. So an expensive breakfast - $5.50 for a slice of cheap brown bread - not even wholemeal!

Somewhere to lay your head for one night, very basic though clean and tidy – you get what you pay for. Some problems with the laundry room as the appliances wouldn’t work, this was probably bad luck on our part rather than a deliberate failing in the hotel, machines don’t last forver.

Please don't stay here, even if it's a cheap place next to the airport. It's disgusting. Small, dirty and depressing rooms where you enter thru sliding doors that overlook the parking. The shower and bathroom were so tiny we could barely fit. There was a small kitchenette which was dirty too.
I would never stay here again and would never recommend it to anyone, it made us both so depressed and sad to be on holiday.

we booked this hotel thinking about comfort Inn hotels in US. This should not be given a single star. Not centrally heated. rooms are very small and not well maintained. some windows don't close properly letting cold air in. Outside temp was 40's (F). they provided only one tiny portable heater for 2 room suite, when asked refused to provde another one. hair dryer was broken and no action from front desk. the place look like ware house conversion and does not have any look of a good hotel. free breakfast is RIP-OFF, 2 loaves of bread and little jelly and juice left on the previous day, that's it. bath rooms are very small and uncomfortable. The supplies are stingy. there is no microwave in the room. The location is also not good, far away from city central. They advertise much different picture. I met other customers who were all deceived by the 'comfort Inn' name and the interent ads. This place does not deserve a any stars or comfort inn name. This is place is not woth for what they are charging. STAY AWAY from this place.

We booked this motel several months ahead and even telephoned on day of arrival to ensure we had the double wheelchair accessible room as requested. The first room we were presented with was not accessible and had several woodlice scurrying about the bathroom floor for good measure. Eventually after a much confusion we got relocated to an accessible room albeit with twin beds instead of a double. Also the rooms are very tired, feel dirty and with damp carpet. No remote control for the Television. For a few dollars more the Jet Inn's new rooms are beyond comparison.
