“Royal Ambience at a Rajasthali wedding”
Reviewed 15 March 2014

We attended a wedding at the Rajasthali resorts in February this year. The Aravallis formed a perfect backdrop to an imposing Central building of the resort. The landscaped lawns and magnificient lighting lent a royal flavour to the ambience. The Main Gate as well as the Main Building were beautifully lit up. Coupled with traditional Rajasthani music, the wedding was a treat to remember.

Stay in the tents....spacious, well-done up, clever indeed, especially if its the first time you've stayed in a tent like this. Jaccuzi et al! However, must admit, the tents are a bit dated...stains in some portions, but don't let that deter you. For the price, its great value. At less than half the price as that of other luxury hotels. the lawns on the property are beautiful, and our son found plenty of birds to keep him interested all day. Tall stone hill flanks one side, and the property is indeed scenic. However, it is not a 5 star! and the breakfast spread very average, food in general ..give it a miss. Good proximity to Amber, Jaigarh, etc but you will need a taxi to go around. Far removed from the city though. Fairmont and Meridien too are close-by and you could pop in there for a sunday brunch.

Room Tip: Like I said before, certainly pick the tent. The grand luxury tent!

The main essence of the hotel which is proper service is missing. The waiters are rude and they don't respond to you when called for. Plus the rooms were not good. We were a group of friends and the transparent washrooms were a total no no. I think this hotel is only for couples hence plan accordingly.

I saw the last post "disappointing good up..." and completely agree on this...please do something...it is indeed a bad advertisement for such a nice place. Rooms are nice. Food is ok. Very picturesque view...maintenance could be better and also, sometime you wont find anyone around...both good and bad.

Overall good place.

Room Tip: rooms near the swimming pool

While the property is splendid at the first look, what made my experience terrible is the technology ignorance of the property staff.

Went to this property for a wedding by road from Delhi...and while following the Google Map location of this resort, GPS took me in front of another hotel/resort by the name - Jai Mahal Palace, inside Jaipur City.

Its so disappointing to see that the resort of this standard has not seen whether location tagging is correct in Google Map or not!! It costed me drive of some 50 Kms extra and 2 hours...and after reporting this to reception, all I could get a reply is - ok sir, we will correct it...with not even a word of apology...Funny as it may seem, they have still not corrected after 2 weeks...
I'm surprised how other travellers would be locating this on GPS.

Keeping location problem aside, once reaching the property...it does give a good feel with very nice surroundings...Room sizes are fairly good..though missing that certain feel of freshness. Room service made us wait for ~45 mins for simple tea kit refill and we did not bother to call the desk anymore for other requirements. Buffet breakfast was extremely ordinary, considering the high tariff and segment of the property...most 2/3 star hotels provide a better spread these days.

Given Jaipur offers so many other great options...will not prefer to visit again!

Dear Guest,

On the onset, thank you for sharing your valuable feedback with us and appreciating the location and ambiance of the property. It is pleasure to inform you that the error in Google maps has been rectified and we regret the delay in having it corrected. My colleague had written to Google but regrettably didn't follow it up.

I have shared your feedback regarding the food quality with my chef and we are working on the quality of food and towards making the breakfast spread more interesting. This hotel is just outside Jaipur, beside a main highway, in an affluent area. It has an opulent atmosphere and from the main gate looks like a splendid palace. We were there for only one night and regreted not being able to stay longer but we were intent on seeing the sights in Jaipur, some 30 minutes' drive away. The room we had was next to the pool and was palatial in size. The pool was a good size too, with plenty of space round it for sunbathing and relaxing. The whole complex was beautifully laid out in gardens and you could have been a million miles from the dust and poverty of the city. The spa was closed, we were told.

The bathroom in our room was large though as everywhere in India, we thought the hot water was slow to flow. We were there in January, when the weather is very cool and we did feel the cold because there was no heating in the room. There was a fridge and minibar.

The restaurant was elegant and gilt- decorated in Raja style. We found the food a little disappointing though the service was good. We made the mistake of ordering Indian champagne, thinking it would be inexpensive (we had had some at a friend's house) but it cost us a fortune!
There was live Indian music and dancing in the restaurant each night which we enjoyed very much.

All the staff from the manager down were unfailingly helpful and courteous and made us feel very welcome.

Room Tip: We saw cottages further away from the pool which might be more noisy in high season because a footpa...
