Owner description: The mystical Moeraki Boulders captured at dawn.

It never fails to amaze me how popular a series of round boulders on a beach are, and the amazing variety of people, from all over the world.

That being said we enjoyed our visit, the walk on the beach and the boulders themselves. My husband had never seen them and found their almost perfect spheres amazing.

You won't get a clear, uninterrupted view of the boulders with the large number of visitors all trying to take photos.

Quite interesting to see some perfectly round boulders but really that is it. The make good photos and a good place to stop if you're passing but not worth a special trip.

When you enter the beach and all the tourist are away it looks like an alien place, where are the coming from and what is inside the boulders? It is a special place to visit and a nice walk at the beach.

2 min drive off state highway 1, and then 1 5-10 min walk along the beach is well worth it for this unique (and free) atraction. Take some pictures too! :-)

Great place to drop by to see the boulders. There are two car parks where you can park your car. You could park it at the souvenir shop if you would like to buy things or the other one if you want a slightly shorter walk. I would suggest just walking to the boulders and coming back from the same direction rather than walking the entire way to the next car park.
